Let's face it, we all thought we'd have flying cars by 2026.
Following the launch (I mean that in both senses of the word) video for the #Tesla Roadster, I was asked to talk on the radio about whether it'll generate more excitement than the Cybertruck.
I think it will. 🧵 ⬇️
But a flying car also taps into that nostalgic vision we once had of the future.
Tesla isn't selling you a flying car. It's selling you the future we all imagined as kids. Which, weirdly, makes it almost nostalgic. #retrofuturism
Whether that attention does anything lasting for the brand depends on Tesla actually delivering in 2028.

Lots of car manufacturers are halting their hydrogen fuel cell programmes.
