Everyone needs to stop saying this crap. There are way too many variables that change when you change the coaching staff to even justify an opinion on this topic. We only know that they ARE 2-6 with THIS STAFF. We CAN’T even remotely justify any opinion on what they would be with any others.
Replying to @FBallAnalysisYT
Jets at worst would be four and four with average coaching, but even slightly above average coaching and they're 5-3 or 6-2

#Jets should strongly consider in-season extensions for Geno Smith & Dane Benton & offseason extensions for AD Mitchell, Braelon Allen, & Dylan Parham.

Anybody who says AG is worse than Kotite is either looking for attention, pushing an agenda, a prisoner of the moment, or simply wasn’t around back then. This is not a defense of AG - who also isn’t worse than Lou Holtz who had #Jets singing college style rally songs in the locker room & didn’t even last a full season - it’s a reminder of how truly awful Kotite was. That 1996 #Jets team went on a spending spree on offense. They had a roster full of young, talented players in their prime on both sides of the ball. They won one game. The defense was ranked near the bottom of the league. The next year with almost an identical core, they won 9 & the defense went from bottom 5 to #6 in -#NFL. And the locker room. Lotta not only lost it, he never had it. One constant through Kotite’s tenure was a complete lack of respect from the players. He had a QB openly telling the press he couldn’t wait for the season to be over so he could leave. A WR who was so badly mistreated he blames Kotite for straight up ruining his career out of pure spite. We really don’t have to do this thing where we pretend the latest guy is always the worst guy ever. AG has done a poor job. He’s not Kotite. He’s not Holtz. You don’t have to let current emotions lead you to false conclusions.
Glenn is worse than Kotite. Sure, he'll win a few more games. But in the mid 90's a HC's ability to effectively communicate what he was thinking was far less important than it is today. No social media. No constant dissection. Not only is Glenn a horrendous coach on game day--he's one of the least effective communicators I've heard in quite some time. Never makes sense. Never inspires. Embarrassing.

I’ve been trying for the last few years to teach people how to think about the offseason, not from a fan perspective, but a front office one. They don’t have $100M+ in cap space. Here’s my projected real working number.
If the Jets really can’t get it right next year with having 100M+ in cap space and 3 first round picks where 2 might damn well be in the top 10, i truly have no hope for this team after that. Numb to this shit. #JetUp

Jets Fans ignore this “take” from @FB_FilmAnalysis and here’s why: Flamed!? “Game Script?!” What “Film Analysis” are you watching?!? #Jets had 4 series in 2nd half plus the last 27 sec series 3rd Qtr Series 1: 3 Play Drive - Touchdown “Raiders loved that?!” Series 2: Play 1 - Jets 28yd completion but penalty (holding) Now 1st and 20… you know damn well you’re passing 3 straight times. Raiders make stop Punt 4th Qtr Series 3: 1st Dwn - Run 2nd Dwn - Run 3rd Dwn - False start/Incomplete pass Punt “Game Script?!?” Series 4: 9 play drive - FG All passes till they got to redzone.. tried a run and got stuffed on 1st dwn. The game script was true… Jets were gashing Raiders on early down passes… there just wasn’t enough plays to run the ball more in 2nd half. So with all due respect let’s be sure when we use words like “Flamed” or “Game Script” it makes sense according to your “Film Analysis”
Jets aren’t getting flamed enough for this 1st half: 23 rushes 140 yards 2nd half: 4 rushes 26 yards Game script did not force them to pass. They were up 30-21 in q3.

Adam Gase is the only head coach since the merger to fit the following criteria 1. Not in his first HC job 2. Win 7+ games in year one 3. Win 5 or mor fewer games in year two 4. Be under .500 in both years Yet, somehow, his record points to being better than Aaron Glenn? Give me a break!

Defense and special teams gave up 477 yards and five touchdowns yesterday. Yet, somehow, people are looking at Frank Reich. Give me a break!

Dylan Parham is only 27. The Jets don't need to go into the offseason thinking they need to draft a center and guard for the starting OL, just a center.

The Jets should give Geno Smith a fully guaranteed one year, $15 million contract extension. Convert the remainder of 2026 to the prorated minimum salary + a signing bonus. 2027 would be a $5 million base salary + $10 million option bonus. Add four void years to the contract.

If the Jets trade Breece Hall just before the deadline, they would gain $10.26 million in cap space over the next two seasons minus the cap space for whoever they sign to replace his spot on the roster.

With the following moves, the Jets salary cap space remaining is $10,085,662 for the 2026-27 regular season. This puts their 2027 offseason budget at $84,128,735.
According to a source the Jets are placing DT T'Vondre Sweat on IR and signing DT Payton Page to the active roster. Sweat will have the ability to return later in the season. They’re also elevating OL Brant Banks and Edge Quinton Bell tomorrow against the Raiders.

A hitter's job is to get on base. Stop with the bull crap that you don't bunt during a no-hitter. Any way to get the offense going should be acceptable.
In 2001 Ben Davis bunted to break up Curt Schilling's perfect game with one out in the 8th, and Arizona's dugout lost it. The Padres were only down 2 to 0, and Bob Brenly ripped the play after the game. Arizona won the World Series that fall.

New York Jets 2027-28 offseason projection for workable cap budget Factors in Pre-free agency cuts Knowable adjustments Practice squad Buffer for in-season spending The roster cuts at the bottom of the spreadsheet are the post-camp roster cuts. The Cap Carryover factors in a projection for remaining cap charges to hit in the 2026-27 regular season.

Please stop using Mount Rushmore as a metaphor for the top four of something. That's not why Gutzon Borglum chose Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Roosevelt for the monument. Washington represents the start of the nation. Jefferson represents expansion. Lincoln represents preservation, and Roosevelt represents the growth into a global superpower. He chose them because they represent four key stages in American history.

Eff it McDermott, Daboll, and Dorsey to the Jets. Let’s see if their success really was the product of Josh Allen’s talent.
