Neil Young - Borrowed Tune Young at his absolute lowest point. Hunched over a piano, alone and emotionally broken, reinterpreting Lady Jane. A level of intimacy as uncomfortable as it is captivating. 1975.

Congratulations to the @remap_cap investigators for conducting this important clinical trial, which will undoubtedly change clinical practice and treatment guidelines (or at least it should). Free link in first reply. @NEJM

#RIP ‘Emergency!’ star Randolph Mantooth. “I could be remembered for driving a car that has a name like the General Lee,” he said. “Instead, I’m remembered for something that changed emergency medicine, forever. How lucky can any one person be?” hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-…

Sending Americans who are exposed to or infected with Ebola to Kenya (instead of bringing them home) is an extraordinarily bad idea and it will backfire On the surface -- it seems smart. Why not send people elsewhere instead of bringing them home For three reasons actually 🧵
Trump administration plan to quarantine Americans suspected of having high-risk exposures to #Ebola in Kenya meets on-the-ground opposition. The plan to quarantine people exposed & treat cases abroad relies on good will the US may not have right now. washingtonpost.com/world/202…

Milli Vanilli AND Vanillla Ice? Too much of something!
It’s like Woodstock all over again, except that it’s shitty music for fascists and pedophiles.

Only one chance in this lifetime… Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him. I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.

This is an incredible* exchange on the conspicuous absence of legal authority under which the Trump administration is operating re: VZ oil sales. *It might give me an aneurysm, sure, but it's still an incredible exchange.

Notable exchange between Rep. Sean Casten (D-Ill.) and Bessent on how exactly Treasury is holding Venezuelan assets “in custody” post Maduro capture. It’s the most detailed exchange on these mechanics I’ve seen.

Nick Cave has compared his experience at one of Radiohead's recent shows to a "spiritual activity." "I was sitting among twenty thousand people. Bizarrely, it was the first time I had ever been in the audience at such a large show, and I was stunned by the depth of love in the room -- people dancing, screaming, crying, hugging each other, throwing themselves around. I was struck by the realization of just how powerful live music is -- that a group of individuals can come together and concoct a sound unique to them, and that people can connect with that distinctive vision as if it were their own experience. I could feel its moral quality -- how this singular force has the capacity to repair the world with its goodness. "I engage in various spiritual activities -- I swim in a lake, go to church, walk in nature, meditate -- but none offer the transcendent opportunity of a live concert. It is a form of human activity that radiates goodness, working its way through the crowd and into the world as a reparative, cosmic force, improving matters, keeping the devil at bay. I believe Radiohead’s audience was responding not only to the music, which was astonishing, but also to the courage of the performers -- the sheer nerve to stand before a crowd and offer up their souls. Like everyone else there, I was deeply moved and humbled." 📸: Matthew Baker / Alex Lake

It's been a cold start to December. Since 1950, it is currently the 11th coldest average. But, although the coldest since 2007, it is MUCH milder than that December and not even in the same ballpark as 1989, an historically cold one compared to all Decembers.

🚨 This is wild. We are talking about actual building blocks of life found on a raw asteroid. Sugars, amino acids and nucleobases sitting out in space tell us that the recipe for life was already everywhere long before Earth formed. This matters more than people think
BREAKING: Sugars essential for life have been found in pristine asteroid Bennu samples collected by NASA’s OSIRIS-REx spacecraft. Combined with previous detections of amino acids and nucleobases, we see that life’s ingredients were widespread throughout the solar system: go.nasa.gov/48MTu9i More on the study led by Yoshihiro Furukawa of @TohokuUniPR⤵️
