An app called “is there snow on the ground” where you fill in the city you’re going to, to inform footwear decisions 🙏🏻

I was born in 1978, grew up in St Louis, was obsessed with Times Beach as a child, and 80 percent of the dudes I knew between 1990 and 1996 made TMBG their personality do @harvilla and I need to be friends

Bernie Sanders is my hero. Plus, it’ll allow the kids more time to go to Fanelli ‘s.
It’s time for us to move to a 32-hour work week with no loss in pay. We can reduce the stress level in our country and allow Americans to enjoy a better quality of life.

It’s my 20th anniversary of coming to Greenpoint 🥰… I remember being like “What’s Enid’s?”
Stephen Malkmus in Greenpoint, 20 years ago tonight, 12/7/2002, Saturday night at Warsaw with the Jicks, playing all these great “Pig Lib” songs nobody knew yet, plus “Third Rate Romance.” One of those gigs you can still hear in your bones 20 years later.

laughing at how, when I was a kid driving with my dad in the car, he’d say “now THAT’S a classic” referring to something like “nowhere to run” by martha and the vandellas and now I do the same to my kids only it’s about “give it away” by the red hot chili peppers
Me seeing Kim K Interview cover: “Ugh I hate celeb media culture, always forcing you to consume things u don’t care about” Me reading this 🧵 abt Don’t Worry Darling, a movie I barely knew existed: “FIND ME EVERY PODCAST/TWEET/TIKTOK ABT THIS UNFOLDING DRAMA OR I SHALL PERISH”

What started as a radio show is now also a music + talk podcast on @anchor and @spotifypodcasts: Welcome to Exquisite Corpse, a musical parlor game where each song is connected to the one before 🎶 open.spotify.com/show/6umMxs…
The pandemic made us all do strange things and for me it was writing a book. An agent approached @Sight_Unseen to do one in April 2020, we sold it to Clarkson Potter (hehe Ina Garten's publisher) and now it is ready for your pre-order! pls buy and share! shop.sightunseen.com/collect…

Damnnn, Entertainment Weekly is what brought me to New York post-college. I was driving to LA when I found out I’d gotten the internship and legit pulled over to cry. I was an intern there for six months from 2000-2001, and it was honestly the greatest way to start life in NYC
It is sad but unsurprising to hear that EW is going under. That magazine meant a lot to me in its heyday, because it was full of such sharp, funny writers—enthusiastic but also skeptical and free of snobbery

Also the offices were right near Siberia bar in the 50th street subway station which was the site of a whole other crash course in New York culture but that’s another thread

Anyways, I haven’t read the magazine in years and get the sense it had gone way downhill, but I’m sad it won’t exist on the newsstand anymore bc it meant a lot to me as a kid and set me up for success in a way that very few places do these days 😢 RIP man
