I've spent my Saturday morning transferring rules into the free THOR Lite version and writing this blog post to provide a solid detection coverage to anyone running a forensic scan on their Exchange servers
I hope that helps 🖖

Our SOC and IR teams have put together a threat briefing for the Hafnium/Exchange threat. The PDF and write up are both free, publicly available, and intended for sharing.

A bunch of people were super critical in preparing this writeup. Shout out to the awesome @detectrespond team who researched this, got their heads around it, and have also been working with clients and customers all day to help them with examining for and triaging IoCs.

My Working-From-Home tip:
For visibility, keep a running journal of all the little tasks you're doing, esp. if your workflow isn't ticket-driven
It's the only way I've been able to write status reports w/o missing 80% of what I actually did
Plus will help identify time leeches

Did your IT team have to slam a #remotework solution together at the last minute for #COVID19? Does your #VPN include the word “PPTP” in it?
If you answered “Yes” to either of these, I’ll give you a free security consult about the #infosec risks to manage. It’s that important.

EFF has learned that our dear friend Special Counsel Jim Tyre (@TyreJim), one of the biggest and best Internet advocates you may never have heard of, has passed away.
Neither EFF nor the law of the Internet would be the same without him.
