I have allowed fear to control me lately. I have waited to take a stand for what I believe in because I have been afraid of being misunderstood. The irony of this hit me today. You see, if I simply post “Black Lives Matter” on my social media, I have family and friends who...
Those who have been overlooked and ignored by our society. The ones who feel they must scream and fight and smash just to get some attention. I want to stand with those who have been misunderstood, but I am too afraid of being misunderstood to take a stand.
So, for this, I am sorry. I am sorry for my cowardice. I am sorry for my ignorance.
I will seek to understand. I will learn to be a better listener, and I will stand up for those who have been ignored and misunderstood. All lives will not matter until Black Lives Matter. #BLM
