Michigan lawmakers have exempted themselves from #FOIA.
We were able to figure out the flow of tickets from MSU to the Capitol only because someone tipped us off about the email account MSU used to make the ticket offers and because MSU has to follow FOIA.
We obtained hundreds of Michigan State University government relations emails that raise questions about whether a state law that bars lobbyist-provided gifts for lawmakers is being followed in Lansing. detroitnews.com/story/news/p…

The final cost of Michigan Central's proposed transit hub with rail and bus service won't be clear until at least 2027, once the project completes its design phase. $40M has been secured so far.
