This was a tough election. Voters sent a clear message they want us to prioritize the cost of living, greater opportunity, and safer communities.
We’ve faced tough elections before, and we’ve come back stronger.
But one tough election doesn’t change the principles we’ve always believed in. Conservative policies make our country safer, stronger, and more prosperous.
Our Founders designed a limited government to protect our liberty and allow markets, communities, and families to flourish. Those enduring conservative principles are bigger than any one election.
And I’m not going to stop fighting for them. I want our children to inherit a country that’s better than the one we inherited.
We’ll learn from this defeat, get back to work, and come back stronger. And we will continue fighting for the conservative principles that have always allowed our party and our country to succeed.

Bad policy, bad character make bad politics: erratic tariffs, impulsive Iran war, blanket pardons, apparent corruption, weaponized justice, ICE brutality, mountainous deficits, hiding Epstein, abandoning allies and coddling enemies. Hoping for a course correction, for the country and for my party.
Hot election takes are a dime a dozen, mine included. But one that I think sticks is to credit French Hill as proof candidates still matter. A lot of Republicans would lose the 2nd district. Good candidates cannot always overcome everything, but they give you the best shot.
This is a good follow. When I was opening manager at Wendy’s, friends would always ask why I had to be there at 6:00 AM when there’s no breakfast. Step one was always chop yesterday’s beef and get the chili on the stove.
Wendy's chili was put on the menu to use up leftover hamburger.
Dave Thomas wrote in his 1992 book, Dave's Way, that people often asked why Wendy's had chili on the menu from the start. His answer was "What do you do with the leftover hamburger?" Wendy's built itself on square patties made from fresh beef. Fresh beef can't be parked in a freezer the way a frozen patty can, so a kitchen grilling it all day needs somewhere for the extra to go.
In 2022 a Wendy's employee posted videos of older cooked patties being soaked, chopped and bagged for the chili, then posted a Wendy's branded training slide showing the same steps. Wendy's didn't comment at the time. Chili has been on the menu since the first Wendy's opened in 1969.

Dumbass. Conservatives should just be conservatives. Stop letting influencers and retainer-chasers shape the positions. Iran isn’t the issue. It’s grifting and the lack of a core.
Election days are nervous energy & busy work, but the cake is baked. This cycle feels more like some older ones than some recent ones. Add dreary Fall weather & classic blue signs all over, it’s fun. As always, if you lose say little & if you win say less. #arpx
It’s easy to lecture about supporting a ticket to support a party. But it’s more important to not support dozens of stupid decisions that shape a cycle. Repubs have needed to turn the record over for a decade. The shift will probably start Wednesday morning.
Tick Tock --> How Trump put the Senate in play
- Picked JD Vance as his running mate, opening up tough expensive special election that GOP could lose. DeWine appointed Husted, who originally wanted to run for governor. Close race that wouldn't have been up til '28 otherwise
- Tangled with Tillis over healthcare cuts in 2025, prompting his retirement. Thune said then Tillis "knew how to run and win in North Carolina." Trump cleared field for Whatley, who is down by large margin.
- Cold-shouldered Cornyn then backed Paxton. Cornyn: “Texas was an unforced error, I think, on the part of the president... if I won the nomination, then that would be a layup in November. That’s all off the table.”
- Backed Sen. Darline Graham in crowded SC race, most senators thought she'd be an interim senator. Now in toss-up race against Annie Andrews with state GOP divided. Andrews: "Darline was going to be easier for me.”
- Tried to oust Kemp in '22; when Georgia race came up this cycle, Kemp passed on the race. Trump backed Rep. Mike Collins over Kemp's pick Dooley, now huge underdog to Sen. Ossoff
- Tariffs, filibuster pressure and of course, the Iran War: “Every negative for the GOP this cycle is a downstream effect of Iran"

You’re supposed to love where you’re from. If you do then it’s fun when well-traveled people visit your home. Congrats to all who put on a great weekend in Arkansas.

Some line-items at DHS have gotten 10% increases over recent years. Others have been flat or cut. Providers & groups have to stop asking for new spending & instead point legislators to savings with existing dollars. Or just live with what they get. #arpx

Six years ago I paid off a truck & the motor went out the next day. Yesterday I paid off a truck and two hours later busted the tailgate after forgetting to raise before backing. Maybe debt is a good thing.

Trump: "I alone could secure a prisoner release from Russia without giving anything in return"
Trump literally ten minutes later: "Now you idiots know why I had to waive sanctions on Russia, no shot I got that prisoner release otherwise"
Lots of “reform” on healthcare cost is needed. As Charlie Munger said, tell me the incentive & I’ll tell you the outcome. But the basics aren’t rocket surgery: more things available to more people than ever before. Of course costs go up. Great for humanity, bad for whoever pays.
I’ve been sucked in bc of the comedy & have a theory I haven’t seen mentioned: the constant misuse of “up there” and “down there.” People use interchangeably, without consideration to the actual direction. The text says “down there” which should mean south, not north.

US airlines' net profit per passenger per flight is $7
US grocery stores' combined net profit per person per year is $47
US health insurers' net profit per insured person per year is $34
In these industries, high prices are not the result of high profit margins.
The law in AR prohibits the naming of publicly-funded structures after living public officials. A Top 10 bill of 2013, I think.. #arleg #arpx
Kennedy: "I don't think any public official, including President Trump or Kristi Noem or John Kennedy, should spend public money on private ads for themselves ...
