Sorry not to be that person, but when I was taking Te Huia in 2021 it was $9 (I think during half-price public transport period) but the jump to $30 is crazy to me - it’s not a viable alternative. The service should receive more funding from central government.

Exciting news! REM have just announced that the Duex-Montanges branch of the system will open on November 17. That’s 14 new stations, with 3 connection points to Montreal’s metro system, and the return of rail transit for those who lost their EXO train for this project in 2020.

Rumour is that the City Rail Link tunnels have been handed over to KiwiRail and the first test will be tonight, now that the underground section has been energized. Can’t wait to see images of trains finally rolling down these tracks. An exciting step for the project!
