Oldest apple tree in the Pacific Northwest dies at age 194 surrounded by its offshoots. Historians say the multi-billion dollar fruit industry in Pacific NW began with this tree. Vancouver, Washington, held a memorial service for the gnarled carcass Sunday nwnewsnetwork.org/post/matri…

#40YearsAgo at #MountStHelens: This morning on May 18, 1980, the @wastatepatrol district office in Kelso sends out this telex to Gov. Ray describing the conditions at the erupting volcano, incl. heavy ash fall, flash floods, electrical storms, and heavy earthquakes. #MSH40
Surprise...my iPhone SE escaped from the UPS Shanghai empire only to stop for 1 3/4 hours (between arrival and departure scans) in Incheon, Korea. And UPS is no longer projecting delivery date. Fuel stop??? Crew? Trouble? Your Toronto package? @reneritchie
Fascinating watching my UPS package wander around the local area with the follow service. It's also a really bad use of my time.
For the first time I managed to score a bottle (as in limit 1) of (Desert Essence) hand sanitizer. Thanks, QFC, for putting them out in a shopping cart where they would be hard to miss entering the store.

Sent a Undercover in to one of our local drug houses to buy $100 worth of “white”. Not what we were expecting to see them carry out. Strange times...
Costco Sequim (WA) was kind enough to resolve my impending (OK, 2 or 3 weeks away) Kleenex Crisis today. I wonder why Home Depot was open...what essential thing do they sell?
So what will Amazon recommend to me based on today's order for mouse traps and cordless phone handset battery replacements?
.@sggrc Regarding server encryption attacks on cities in Florida: it's true the Lake City is larger than Key Biscayne. My guess though is that Key Biscayne is the richer city by quite a bit. So giving them a cut rate probably wasn't fair to Lake City.
It was Andy Ihnatko who put me onto gaffers tape. I haven't used up the roll I bought years ago (I should test whether it has died), but it solved several problems for me over the years, for under $15 at Amazon. Holds better than painters tape.
Replying to @johnbaxter
You mean for the next time I tape a drive to a computer? Probably a once ever deal. I usually keep painter's tape around.
Unless it's been tossed out, there's a formal report at JPL written in the stone-furlong-fathom measurement system. Written many years ago (late 1950s?) by a scientist tired of all the different systems they dealt with.

.@adamengst Hmmm. Apple has correctly marked the Alaskan Way Viaduct closure in Apple Maps. On iOS. But NOT in the Maps app on macOS.

Apparently trees aren’t all we are dealing with today... what you are seeing is a trampoline trapped among the power lines on SR 12 at MP 6.

Here's the daily weather map for 78 years ago tomorrow. Check out that deep low pressure system off the north coast of Washington. Why is it significant? The 40+ mph winds it created led to the collapse of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. #wawx
Amazon free 5-8 day shipping, last mile (9 miles) USPS. Ordered late afternoon Monday, Nov 5. Out for delivery today (Wed Nov 7) (translation: in Karen's car). (OK...so it shipped from a Seattle area Amazon warehouse.)
