just noticed.......in USA : Per Executive Order 14434, federal agencies are now using "Super Intelligence" (SI) in place of "Artificial Intelligence" (AI). You may see both terms during this transition...

This paper answers why confident idiots run the world.
Cornell University published a psychological paper that explains every terrible boss, every loud influencer, and every broken corporate hierarchy.
It’s called “Unskilled and Unaware of It.”
they tested participants across logic, grammar, and humor to measure the gap between actual performance and self-perception.
And the results are wild.
participants scoring in the bottom 12th percentile consistently believed they were operating in the 62nd percentile.
they were not lying. they were literally incapable of recognizing their own incompetence.
the paper revealed a brutal paradox:
the exact skills required to master a domain are the exact same skills required to accurately evaluate your own competence in that domain.
if you lack the skill, you inherently lack the cognitive capacity to realize you are failing.
this creates a dangerous systemic loop.
the incompetent are blessed with absolute, blinding certainty. their brain protects them from their own ignorance, allowing them to speak first, demand authority, and never second-guess their decisions.
meanwhile, the actual experts suffer the exact inverse.
top performers in the study consistently underestimated their rank. because a task was easy for them, they falsely assumed it was easy for everyone else.
they hesitate. they obsess over nuance. they assume they have nothing unique to add.
we are biologically wired to confuse confidence with competence.
the loudest person in the room gets promoted, gets funded, and gets the microphone, not because they know what they are doing, but because they are physically incapable of seeing what they don't.
the only defense mechanism is building systems that stop rewarding absolute certainty and start demanding proof of work.

SORRY IF THIS OFFENDS PRINTER COMPANIES, BUT I'M DONE.
I bought a printer for $89. It came with "starter" ink that lasted about 3 weeks.
The replacement ink set was $112.
The ink cost MORE than the printer.
So the printer isn't the product. It's just a coupon for buying ink at whatever price they decide.
I checked if I could use cheaper third party cartridges. The printer rejected them. Error message and everything.
I own the printer. I bought it. I paid for it. And it still won't let me choose what to put in it.
THAT'S NOT A PRODUCT. THAT'S A SUBSCRIPTION THAT YOU HAVE TO CARRY HOME.

‼️ A bug bounty hunter says they rooted their 2025 Samsung TV with zero-days and found an AI model tracking what they watch and the ads they skip.
The TV also takes screenshots, categorises audio and can tap a soundbar's mic, they say.
Then OpenAI banned them for "Cyber Abuse".

Could be a topic for a video. I'm writing a script for a counter argument for people who glaze the MTR and the 'fantastic public transport' system of HK and how it has a paradoxical effect and doesn't work so well for 3mil in the New Territories.

I know this corner, I cycle past it daily. You can hear them at night, it's a double white line and speed camera before/after for a reason with police cruisers often hiding in that bus stop behind highway dept vans for good reason.
