UPDATE: The Course of the COUP ATTEMPT by Donald Tusk, supported by the EU‼️
1. The left-wing Prime Minister Donald Tusk attempted to appoint eight judges to the Constitutional Court, although he was only allowed to appoint three.
2. The right-conservative President Karol Nawrocki administered the oath of office only to three judges, as prescribed by law.
3. Tusk organized a parallel swearing-in for the other five by administering the oath to them himself, although the constitution stipulates that only the president may do this.
4. Nawrocki left the country for a scheduled trip to Senegal.
5. One of the judges illegally sworn in by Tusk ordered the removal of the President of the Court, the right-conservative Bogdan Święczkowski.
6. Tusk ordered the police to block access to the court and thus deny entry to the President of the Supreme Court.
7. Nawrocki interrupted his trip and returned to Poland in haste.
8. In the night to Friday, he personally positioned himself in front of the court building and struggled with the police to gain access.
9. Once he was in the court building, he removed the five judges illegally sworn in by Tusk and granted the President of the Supreme Court access to his office.

I think that the (British) legacy media has demonstrated once again that it is sliding into irrelevancy.
By any measure, the events in Poland are of great importance, not least in presenting Brussels with a major challenge and, potentially, defying the ECJ.
Yet the paper of record, The Times, hasn't even run a story, the BBC is hiding its report (on its website) on the Europe section, for which one has to search, when other newspapers are barely touching the events - and giving them low priority.
Go to social media, on the other hand, and the events are dominating my timeline, with continuous, evolving updates in what is a dynamic and fast-moving story.
All the papers carry detailed updates on the BBC's "Traitors" programme - not that I have the first idea of what that's about - but if you want news on important issues, go to X.

He’s a globalist, plain and simple. Married to Democrat CIA linked journalist Anne Applebaum, Sikorski’s big on NATO and Brussels, but a lot less so on Poland’s own interests.
He also, like Zurabishvili in Georgia, convieniently dropped his British (she dropped her French) citizenship when it helped his Polish career.

Les évènements graves qui se déroulent actuellement en Pologne autour du Tribunal constitutionnel suscitent une profonde inquiétude.
La suspension contestée du président du Tribunal, l’intervention des forces de sécurité autour de cette institution semblent s’apparenter à une prise de contrôle forcée d’une institution constitutionnelle.
L’indifférence de l’Union européenne et le silence des médias face à la crise polonaise suscitent de légitimes interrogations : on ne peut prétendre défendre la démocratie et l’État de droit et se taire lorsque l’équilibre constitutionnel d’un État membre est gravement menacé.
On ne restaure pas l’État de droit en donnant le sentiment de s’affranchir soi-même des règles qui le fondent.
La multiplication de ces coups de force au sein même de l’Union européenne commence à sérieusement interroger.
