My 8 core investing principles after 4 years in the market:
- Stick to rules. They are rational, emotions are not.
- Never chase an entry.
- Don’t try to catch a falling knife, buy on support.
- Only buy something if you would have enough conviction to keep buying dips.
- Buy companies that have robust proprietary moats. “They are one of the only companies that can _.”
- Invest in industries that have an aggressively expanding TAMs over the next 10 years.
- Load the boat indicators: VIX > 35, fear & greed < 6, CNBC markets in turmoil segment.
- If something doubles, sell 2/5 and let the rest run.
Would like to own 100 shares of $GOOGL, currently at 25, do I wait for a lower price or scoop up the remainder now?

Real example of Muse and the OTA risk. $BKNG $META
I wanted to try what happened when I used Muse to book a stay in Florence, Italy.
First it returned 5 options. The links to ALL FIVE were Booking .com listings.
It did not prompt me to price check or go direct. I did prompt it to check if it was cheaper going direct.
From the time I asked it to check to when it answered me 14 minutes had passed- sure I could do other things in the mean time, but if I was really in the mood to search travel, I would have realistically just gone to different sites or did the check myself.
The conclusion was 2 out of the 5 listings were cheaper to go direct, with the other 3 cheaper on Booking .com. Although 1 of those was only cheaper because it was a non-refundable rate-- the refundable rate was the same as on Booking. (The one that was cheaper was because it had a special 15% discount if you stayed longer than 5 nights).
So really more like 1 out of 5 was clearly cheaper going direct, 1 was a wash, and 3 were more expensive going direct.
The interesting thing is people are acting like the ability to price compare and shop rates is new with Muse.
Yes, I get it makes it more automatic, but a lot of travelers check the direct rate before booking. If the price is similar enough, they may still prefer to book on a better known site like Booking because of the support they expect to receive if something is wrong.
But also, who books hotels like this?
No pictures, no maps, no reviews. I have to trust it figured out the best one for me.
It makes sense as a place to start a search (better than Google perhaps), but for me at least this wouldn't satisfy me with enough info before booking.
The long wait time inbetween prompts would have compelled me onto a more traditional OTA to speed things up.
I get the interface and speed can/will improve in the future, but it still seems like the path of least resistance to just pull from Booking.
It may keep price checking and some consumers will save money from that, but it isn't built to scrap the entire web everytime a user searches for a hotel.
As Ben Thompson notes, in time they can build out their own web directory, but that still doesn't solve the live hotel inventory link.
I get AI Agents are scary and they will change the world in all sorts of ways that are hard to know ahead of time.
On the other hand, it is very hard for a single business to be great at everything.
Oh yeah and if $META Muse actually becomes popular beyond nerds on X they will probably need more debt in order to fund the compute.
I’ll steer clear of Zuck thanks, the least trustworthy and most sociopathic CEO of them all…

The hype around muse will fade as fast as OpenClaw
X is a bubble. Literally no one is using muse.

What can Muse do that Claude can't? What am I missing here? Now Meta has my email data :/
Am I the only one that doesn’t get the hype for $META muse?
1) I don’t want to give more personal data to Zuckerberg
2) It seems the main use case is buying things online? I rarely buy things online anyway, and when I do, I want to research and compare
$ADBE are getting left behind. I can't for the life of me think why they haven't already developed this inside premiere pro. They've had so much time and pretty much unlimited budget. If I was a shareholder I would be absolutely livid.
$IQE breakout and retest as we head into earnings. Would love a chance to add more at 38 but it is looking unlikely.
My favourite rule in investing is to buy quality companies under the 200 wma, I just couldn't bring myself to do it with $MSFT because I personally hate all of their products:
Windows - Horrible to use, mac all day
Copilot - Claude eats for breakfast
LinkedIn - Horrible place to spend time, cretins of the earth
Xbox - Gaming is for 12 year olds and playstation was better
Bing - Lol who has used Bing
Microsoft 365 - This one is ok but I'm not corporate
Azure - Again apparently this is ok
I wonder if we will get $META under its 200 wma sometime soon 👀
Drew this on the $SOXX about 6 weeks ago for a joke and it's still tracking perfectly... Hope I am wrong!
There is a lot of euphoria on the timeline right now, with the $QQQ still making lower highs & lower lows. Would like to see 710 taken out but until then the 200 wma at 650 is still in play.

This also means there's an increased likelihood Citadel will slowly dump on our heads this massive new reasonably illiquid risk exposure that just returned 20-40% overnight over the coming days and weeks
Remember, the majority of anyone who ever places a buy and sell order on Robinhood or any major US retail broker these days is actually buying and selling from Citadel, not the exchange
