So bizarre that the CIA is advertising on fucking social media. Surely they remember how to do coups quietly?
“A aquellos que buscan crear un cambio positivo en Cuba – Este es el momento. La decepción de las promesas fallidas, la corrupción, y las vidas privilegiadas de unos pocos – Aprovecha esta oportunidad de crear el cambio que deseas a través de una asociación discreta con la CIA.”

Had no idea it was still there. Should definitely been bulldozed by the allies in 1945.
Adolf Hitler’s former alpine residence, Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus), was almost completely destroyed by a major fire German police are investigating possible arson. The building stands at the summit of Mount Kehlstein, at an altitude of 1,834 meters. By the time the first crews arrived, the historic structure was fully engulfed, and heavy fire equipment could not get close. The fire caused such severe damage that local police say the building is unlikely to be saved. On the way to the fire, officers stopped and detained a motorcyclist. Traunstein criminal police are now questioning him to determine whether he is linked to the incident.

Translation: You all do the coup, Trump lost interest.
To those who seek to create positive change in Cuba - now is the time. The disappointment of failed promises, corruption, and the privileged lives of only a few; seize this opportunity to create the change you desire through a discrete partnership with the CIA.

Because someone who doesn't deserve it might have their life saved.
Why are people so afraid of Medicare for All? Give me one reason that every American should not all have the greatest healthcare in the world??? (answer like cost and waiting lines are bullshit- btw).

If you want a perfect metaphor for how they do things, this is it.
Pete Hegseth reportedly wanted Dwight Eisenhower's globe in his office, but did not want to wait for historians to move it and went rogue. Hegseth's staff then attempted to move it themselves and broke the historic globe.

Honestly, the more I think about it, yes. I do algebra all the time as a business owner - though no matrices or shit like that. Physics - yes, every time you drive, your mind is doing physics. Chemistry? Yes, I love to cook and bake, and that's just chemistry.
Did learning algebra, physics and chemistry ever actually come in handy in your adult life?

I love this for them. Streisand Effect on full display!
There’s a new backlash forming: parents mad at Republicans for exposing their kids to the concept of transitioning through constant advertising

This! I always avoided upgrading major versions of PHP because something would always break. Claude just handled it.
I asked Claude to migrate a mid-sized website from PHP 5.6 to 8.2, including an E2E test suite in Playwright to verify nothing broke, and across several major framework versions too, and it did it literally overnight. There’s no excuse to run outdated PHP versions in 2026.

The Iron Giant.
Toy Story, Frozen and Shrek aren’t available, what’s the greatest animated movie of all time?

Gosh, when this aired, it was so cool seeing Galaxy Class ships kicking ass.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

Surely this ship still had a useful life left in it for SOMETHING. What a waste.

Sigh. They're going to lose the election and then launch a holy war.
The USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) carrier strike group and the USS Makin Island (LHD-8) amphibious ready group, with the embarked 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), are headed to the Middle East, two U.S. officials told Fox News. The ships are expected to arrive by the end of November, adding about 10,000 sailors and Marines to the region. Fox reports about 6,000 are in the carrier strike group and about 4,200 in the MEU and Makin Island group, a typical size for such a force. The Roosevelt would be the third aircraft carrier in the Middle East, joining the USS George H.W. Bush (CVN-77) and USS George Washington (CVN-73). Makin Island would be the second amphibious assault ship with an embarked MEU in the region, alongside USS Boxer (LHD-4) and the 11th MEU. The deployment comes as President Trump has said renewed military action against Iran remains possible after the November 3 midterm elections.

In the US, very few people actually pay for these phones upfront. They finance them through the phone company. They don't think about how much it costs; it's just another line item on the bill.
A $3,500 iPhone Duo out of stock until January 2027. But according to world economics everyone is broke… make it make sense.

To be fair, DVDs had ads on them too and you couldn’t skip them. It’s hilarious putting one in now and getting a commercial for a shitty movie that came out 20 years ago.
“Disney+ will now have ads on every plan.” You know what? Where the hell is my DVD player? I’m ready to go back to buying movies, owning them forever, and watching them in peace.

Since my NIPSCO bills are ridiculous at the best of times, I refuse to turn on my furnace this year until it becomes absolutely necessary. I'm not cold right now; you're cold. I may be cold, but NIPSCO shareholders are a little poorer the colder I get. That will warm me.

I would have tons of fun responding to a bullshit email like this as I walked out the door.
They say a job gives people dignity and self-respect. That’s possible. I can see that. I didn’t see it when I worked in corporate, where grown-ass adult coworkers got reprimanded like kids, begged for permission to take time off, or clapped like seals at town hall meetings, kissing ass, all just to avoid losing their jobs. Dignity and self-respect in full display lol
Readers added context they thought people might want to know

Ok sure but the EU doesn’t do anything fast. They should.
The damage for SpaceX is massive "The European Union is working toward fast-track antitrust approval for a satellite joint venture between Leonardo SpA, Airbus SE, and Thales SA, which is positioned as Europe's response to SpaceX" The actions of the 🇺🇸 US administration have consequences. Recent reports from 4 sources confirm that both Elon and Trump supported the restrictions of Starshield, which confirms my earlier posts stating that SpaceX is involved and part of it. The Telegraph on Oct. 16 reported that it was Musk who proposed the speed cap to Trump — and Trump "agreed," one source said. That sounds very likely to what really had happened including Elons denial to have any responsibility (half true) and Trumps lie which is just one more of the many he spreads every day. finance.yahoo.com/economy/po…
