"We should be more careful not to do wrong than not to suffer wrong, because to suffer wrong is only an affliction, but to do wrong is a sin, and sin is always worse than affliction." - Matthew Henry

“If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God." Col. 3:1-3

Strong doctrine alone will not make you Christ-like, but growing in Christ-likeness will strengthen your doctrine.

“I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. ” Eph 4:1-3

Today, the membership of @thevillagemi - where I’ve had the joy of serving as a lay elder for the past four years - voted to bring me on as a full‑time staff pastor. To God be the glory; great things He has done!

The reoccurring sabbatical debate on here does not edify nor does it build one another up.

The history books will not be kind to the generations who have taken the lives of their own children - whether inside or outside the womb. Only the most hardened hearts would kill their own children.

"There is no way to row to paradise except on the stream of repenting tears. Repentance is required as a qualification. It is not so much to make us dear to Christ as to make Christ dear to us. Until sin is bitter, Christ will not be sweet." - Watson, Doctrine of Repentance

The authority of the local church matters. Well said. Healthy churches are multiplying churches.
A self-appointed church planter is little more than a disgruntled church member. By contrast, the best church planters are always sent out from healthy churches that are looking to plant other healthy churches.

Brothers and sisters, we must pray for our young men more. "Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong." 1 Corinthians 16:13 ESV
Also interesting if you look at population that uses daily.

"Do not let it be said that repentance is difficult. Things that are excellent deserve hard work. Will not a man dig for gold in the ground, though the work makes him sweat? It is better to go with difficulty to heaven than with ease to hell." - Thomas Watson

"Repentance brings a purging; do not fear the work of this bitter pill. Strike your soul... by taking that painful hit, it will escape death. How good it would be if we were more deeply affected and moved to tears by sin." - Thomas Watson, The Doctrine of Repentance

“The biggest challenge is not making the math work.” It still amazes me how economically illiterate socialists are.

"Counseling involves helping people to put off old patterns which grew out of rebellion towards God, and helping them put on new practices which grow out of obedience to God. This is the shepherd's challenge, opportunity and duty." Jay. E. Adams. Competent to Counsel

Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise. — Proverbs 6:6 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man. — Proverbs 6:10-11
