This morning, cars lined the streets as hundreds of strangers gathered to honor Lonnie D. Wayman, a Navy veteran with no known family. What an incredible display of patriotism and true Volunteer spirit. God is good! 🇺🇸

Seriously good news for military families and for the country
We got some actually good news for military families, which is something I take personally.
This supports force retention and recruitment, which is a serious national security thing right now.

Our friend and colleague @MAGAgpsmith is an investor in Armed Forces Brewing Company, one of our trusted advisors, and a former U.S. Air Force security specialist whose @codeofvets organization does remarkable things for Veterans around the country.
In this video which is now also available on all of our social media, Gretchen tells her father's story, SGT Danny Smiley. He was a Vietnam war veteran who inspired her military career, and whose untimely death after battling PTSD for years was the springboard that launched her charitable efforts.
Gretchen’s charity Code of Vets has financially assisted more than 100 Veterans this year alone. This incredible and selfless work includes paying many Veterans’ rent to prevent them from becoming homeless, finding and financially assisting with housing for homeless Veterans on the streets, helping Veterans obtain needed medication they could not afford or that had not arrived from the VA, assisting Veterans without transporation to get to medical care, providing support for Veterans who had been denied disability claims and helping Veterans who were suicidal and who suffer from severe PTSD. Over the years, Code of Vets has literally been a life saver for countless men and women who sacrificed for our country but who were in dire need with no place else to turn.
Let's share this video to remind people of the struggles many of our Veterans face every day and to help Gretchen and Code of Vets help our Veterans in need.
Let's all help put an end to Veteran homelessness and Veteran suicide. Let's give our Veterans the life they earned, and so richly deserve. 🇺🇸

It’s been 13 years since Extortion 17 was shot down in Afghanistan. 30 American military servicemen and a U.S. military dog were among those killed. This was the single greatest loss of life in the Naval Special Warfare community since 2001.
Never forget.

#PTSD can manifest in many different ways, but there is always help available.
On PTSD Awareness Day (and every day), let's commit to having each other's back. IAVA will keep up the fight for more treatment options, more understanding of symptoms, and better access to care.

"Perfection is impossible.
In the 1,526 singles matches I played in my career, I won almost 80% of those matches.
But what percentage of points did I win?
54%
In other words, even top ranked tennis players win barely more than half the points they play.
When you lose ever second point on average, you learn not to dwell on every shot.
You teach yourself to think:
'Okay, I double faulted...it's only a point.'
'Okay, I came to the net and I got passed again...it's only a point.'
Even a great shot, an overhead backhand smash that ends up on ESPN's top 10 playlist – that too is just a point.
Here's why I'm telling you this.
When you're playing a point, it has to be the most important thing in the world. And it is.
But when it's behind you, it's behind you.
This mindset is crucial – because it frees you to fully commit to the next point with intensity, clarity, and focus."
