Sometimes your greatest growth comes from what you’re willing to trim away.
Everything we do to, with, and around others teaches them what God is like. Whether accurately or inaccurately.
This is what it means to be a Christian.
If God is love
and we want to be faithful to God
then love is an absolute non-negotiable
Because if God is love
and we forsake love
then we forsake God
A big part of pastoral work is challenging the beliefs in people that are not of God and affirming the ones that are.
Lord, forgive us when we do the opposite.
