I’ve seen essays about football and floods, regional violence, as well as football under oppressive regimes, and at the same time seen journalists arguing that there’s no reason to talk or write about all the Palestinian footballers being killed right now.
The simplest explanation is — ESPN is run as a business first and made another in a long line of business decisions. We can hope that knowledgeable people can step into this role but they’ll be subject to the same pressures.
Time to interrupt previously scheduled message: @ZachLowe_NBA being laid off by ESPN is absurd. He's been the greatest part - one of the only redeemable parts - of ESPN in the last couple of dreary years of jock-pundits, Stephen A, Pat McAfee, and Greeny-Greeny everywhere (1/2)
Graduate school is a slog, which together with financial hardship, creates an impressive cocktail for mental health consequences.
I can say more about that but there’s also times where you find the motivation and passion you had when you started. Theory, I appreciate you.
Decided to give The Lighthouse (2019) another spin because I fell asleep in the theater the first time. Fascinated with the seagull. Less digestible than other Eggers films but still rich thematically.
Big time player and a big time game.
Sam Griffin scored 26 points, tying his season-high mark, and recorded a season-best seven assists and six rebounds in the Cowboys' 98-93 come-from-behind win over Nevada

This is the greatest community note I ever seen.
This #MLKDay, the #FBI honors one of the most prominent leaders of the Civil Rights movement and reaffirms its commitment to Dr. King’s legacy of fairness and equal justice for all.

These debates usually end up with people talking past each other because they have a different criteria for what makes one a better rapper. People on one side will reference the social and political content and another side will try to reference lyrical skill.
He’s in his mid 20’s and is top 10 in QBR and top five in passer rating. Just played all 17 games. He leads a prolific offense and led the league in passing yards. If someone isn’t a top three or four player at the position you move on? Just seems absurd to me.

We stayed the course.
