Sun on My Back 🌻 We were on our way to a concert at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, with the sun on our backs and miles of South Dakota road ahead of us. I thought we had already missed sunflower season and would have to wait until next year, so I wasn’t expecting to see much along the way. Then our route took us right past a field full of them. Cryotherapy - Three years ago today, a rare winter storm transformed Saguaro National Park into something almost unrecognizable. Snow settled into the canyon, mist softened the distance, and the saguaros stood suspended between seasons. Shadow Paint - The weather was perfect for Spring Volksmarch at Crazy Horse Memorial in Custer, South Dakota, this year (June 7, 2025). We dubbed it the Year of the Crane, as a large yellow crane (270 feet tall) made its presence known from almost every angle. In this shot, the crane’s shadow falls almost like face paint. According to several sources, Crazy Horse was believed to have ridden into battle adorned with a lightning bolt and hailstones.
