Where does money invested into the AI buildout actually go?
For every $100 flowing into the supply chain:
- $50 to chips
- $20 to power
- $15 to networking
- $15 to cooling, buildings, and land

Introducing our State of Markets pt 2, along with a companion podcast where we unpack the data and discuss what comes next.
Tech is the everything cycle.
Supply: putting the buildout in context, just passed railroads as % of GDP. The wisdom of Elon is real: the factory (or the datacenter!) is the product.
Demand: diffusion is so, so early. Median AI vendor spending in the top 1% of companies is 8x that of the top 10%. Only about 30% of S&P 500 companies report a quantified AI impact, which means there’s a substantial opportunity in connecting models to a company's data and workflows. Diffusion into companies is one of the main themes of the next 5 years.
We’re entering the agent work period. Only a few million users today, but applicable to billions of internet users with massive surplus created. META/GOOG monetize US users at $200+ per year today. Agent opportunity is much higher.
Mega-trends the next 5 years: Consumer agents, Robotics, Autonomy, AI x bio, Personal health, Diffusion into enterprise, New era of American Dynamism.

Miden co-founder @azeemk argues the answer to rogue AI transactions may be simple: don’t ask the agent to behave, make the forbidden transaction impossible.
"We ended up creating a solution to our own problem, which we call Guardian. You can think of it like a two-of-three multisig, where you have a hot wallet, a cold wallet key that's stored, and then you can have a third guardian that would be a signer."
"As we started building out, we started seeing, wait, you can actually put an AI in here and give the AI parameters it needs to follow."
"The human would be able to enable guardrails into Miden Guardian, and then have it do the things it wants while being comfortable knowing you can't somehow convince the agent to send $300,000 to someone."
"But if you could encode that it literally can't, that's fascinating."
@0xMiden
This story captured a side of me that I’ve never actually talked about publicly anywhere else. Jeff, who wrote this, is beyond elite at what he does. I can’t even explain how he took what were two very hectic conversations with me and turned them into this article. And I couldn’t be more honored that it was a profile for the inaugural issue.
In getting more personal publicly of late, I’ve decided that starting to tell my story in its entirety is really important. Not just telling the PR version that I know will do well, because that bland version just gets mixed in with everyone else who’s trying not to say the wrong thing. There’s a lot about how I got here, what I believe, and why I’ve made some of the decisions I have that I’ve just never really talked about publicly.
The life I live now was never supposed to be the life I’m living. Over time, though, I’ve learned to trust my intuition because there have been too many moments where it’s told me to go in a direction that made absolutely no sense on paper, only for it to make sense later. I’ve come to believe that’s God helping direct me toward where I’m supposed to go.
And the reality is, when I look around at other founders, I know I’m better than them. Sure, time will tell and all that. But the kid who stood up in sixth grade and said it would one day be “Rockefeller, Carnegie, and Khan” is still very much here.
To quote the great Ye, “I’m a star, how could I not shine?”
The first issue of The Index features @azeemk, crypto’s true renaissance man.
In our debut profile, @jbensonwrites tells the story of a man who “had a goal when he was younger: to get rich. Not just vacation-home rich or fancy-car rich.
He wanted to be filthy, inconceivably, awe-inspiringly rich.”

any build that can consistently consume attention has the potential for a B value exit because of the deeper war on cociousness.
don't be fooled, everything around you is fighting to steal just a second of your attn to grow and stregthen its hold.
when building to grab mass attention, think wisely about what you're feeing your audience, the content is doing more than you can realise//imagine.
at least in my case, we think about this a lot and for the most part everything is filtered towards + flowing vibe energy and doing good // even if it's just a little.
anyway just pov

the difference between 2022 and 2026 bear markets:
2022: crypto was a top 3 coolest tech category, we were all going to live in the metaverse and the world would be built on blockchain. the alternative was
- climate tech: depressing
- AI + robotics: still scifi
- biotech: boomer from the prior cycle
2026: crypto feels more like a backend for fintech, relatively way less cool than:
- AI: the most important tech paradigm of our lives,
- robotics: labor is solved, you'll never work again
- defense tech: anduril x palantir x anthropic = real-life video game
- nuclear: a single drop of water can produce enough energy to power manhattan for 100 years
- quantum: jfyi, all your coins are now worthless
- biohacking: peptides will make you ripped and you'll live forever
just to be clear, there's still cool things happening in crypto: think perps (24/7 trading of popular assets), prediction markets (hedge/bet on anything), lend against anything anywhere, flash loans (atomic, instant liquidity), social trading (fomo) and AMMs (unironic, create a market on literally anything).
but all of these are cool in the context of RWAs. crypto is just the back end, SOVs are really struggling with a lack of identity.
bear in mind i am viewing this through the lens of venture capital dollars and what the kids are up to, as i think those are the two strongest indicators of what is "cool".
all of this is relevant context for inflows, not purpose. im not saying crypto is intrinsically worth any less, but btc is literally valued based on how it's perceived.
