TV is worse off than it was 20 year ago. There are too many channels, which means ad revenue is spread thinly, meaning we get repeats ad nauseum. ITV is no longer regional. Streaming and VOD has ruined linear TV, which has killed a sense of communal viewing. It's a mess.

Penny Henry, who was an integral part of the team at the Haçienda in its very early years, died in the early hours of this morning. She'd already made a massive contribution in the scene around the Magic Village and the 8th Day some dozen years earlier. A very gentle soul. RIP.
