What have you been putting off because you did not feel ready?
Not the whole project. The first small step. Name it. Do it this week. Leave the polishing for later.
I send one note a month to leaders who are learning to follow Christ and help others do the same. It is called The Following Leader. jeffrhale.com/newsletter.
Circumstances as #prayer prompts:
All your circumstances are in the hand of God.

Moses asked why God would send him (Exodus 3). Jeremiah said he was too young to speak (Jeremiah 1). Gideon pointed to a weak clan and a small life (Judges 6). God did not mainly fix their résumé. He answered with his presence: I will be with you.
The leaders who help others follow Jesus are often the ones who started while still afraid. Read those calls yourself this week. Then take one small step you have postponed.
More of that kind of encouragement is in The Following Leader: jeffrhale.com/newsletter.
A late start is not the same as a wasted start. "My times are in your hands" (Psalm 31:15). Paul says God works in all things for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28). Even the delay.
If you need a monthly reminder that your timing is still in his hands, that is what The Following Leader is for: jeffrhale.com/newsletter
This is a great observation. We often forget the subtle and unconscious nature of our #leadership #influence on others.

You don't need a title to lead. Someone is already watching how you handle a bad day and copying it. Leadership starts the moment someone takes their cue from you.
I wanted the first issue to be polished and professional. That wish built a two-year backlog.
Describe the thing you keep improving. Discern whether more polish is obedience or avoidance. Then do the smallest version this week.
The Following Leader is a monthly note for leaders who are ready to take that kind of step. jeffrhale.com/newsletter.
Faithful work can become the reason you never start the other faithful work. I gave myself to sermons, visits, and meetings. All of it mattered. I would do it again. I also let that good work buy me one more month, then one more year.
What good assignment are you using as cover for the step you already know is yours?
I write about that kind of honesty once a month in The Following Leader. The signup is at jeffrhale.com/newsletter.
This week, take one small step on something you have delayed because you do not feel ready. Leave the polishing for later.
If that is the kind of help you want once a month, join the list at jeffrhale.com/newsletter.
#AllSaintsDay: I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church (universal church), the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
