Mac is so good at finding space for headers. Lucky to be up 1-0 but I’ll take it.

I thought 2nd yellow were now reviewable. That was one of the softest second yellows I’ve seen since…checking notes, Jota’s against Tottenham.

I feel like Liverpool is Man Utd of a few years ago. Buying players with no direction. They have Isak but don’t seem to use him as they should. Same with Wirtz. And signed outside backs who don’t seem to fit with how this team should play.

I like Gakpo on the right. Hopefully he’ll take the ball to the line and put crosses in to Isak. That’s what Isak needs.

Ok. So if we are going to play with no 6 then we need outside backs that pinch in and cover and don’t go forward all the time. Gonna be a long season otherwise.

Watching that replay there’s no reason Wissa should have gotten out of that. Terrible defending.

And just like that our terrible transition defense shows again and we’re down again.

Finally a good passage of play. Wirtz with good vision to see the initial ball which started it. I know people were quick to want to sell Gakpo but in the right system with ball moving quicker he’s a quality player.

Welp I’m watching Turkish football now I guess.

Wow. Just wow.

Dang. Courtois 100% holds on to that one or at least pushes it out side and not in the direction of the attackers. Gotta feel for him coming off the bench in that situation.

My heart is broken for Salah. Seemed like they had a chance on the counter then gave up a goal because they were too stretched and tired. Football is cruel and unforgiving at times.

Or people who watch once every 4 years can learn the rules to the game and how added time is added. It’s honestly pretty simple if you pay attention to the game. Goal/sub adds about 30 seconds. Injury depends on length. And if it happens during added time more time gets added.

Casual fans now realizing there’s a gap between where the US is and where the actual top teams in the world are. Could the US beat Belgium or the likes in a WC knockout? Yes. Should they beat them now? No. Hopefully that will change within the next 4 years.

What a terrible goal to give up there. Had Belgium under a ton of pressure then gift them a goal. Let’s hope there’s a way back after that.
