An information from UPSC on number of doctors recruited on permanent roles across India through CMSE Happy to see fresher doctors too hired on permanent roles somewhere at least whereas 80% doctors are hired only on contract / adhoc/ tenure based roles

Response from JIPMER for a complaint of illegal duty hours in pediatric and neuro surgery on CPGRAM portal These are 6 years integrated M.Ch.  courses and residents from these departments allege 12 hour night shifts for 15 days and 12 hour day shifts for 15 days throughout their 6 years program since the very beginning. This is nothing but a blatant human rights violation and against JIPMER & residency norms But these resident get 2-4 week offs which is just a dream in other clinical dreams of JIPMER in the first 180 days PG ragging period that is silently watched by HoDsfor the legitimate interests of patient care and due to man made exigiencies that exist only for JRs for the past 30 years

Who must be sent to Jail if a JR commits suicide due to 24-36 hour duties? AIIMS Nagpur says on case to case basis HoD / senior most faculty / Unit in charge / Faculty / Non faculty of the concerned department can be charged under BNS 108 (Abetment of suicide) Please refer page No 3: Point 13 A criminal charged under BNS 108, can be jailed upto 10 years. We see 20- 30 residency suicides due to inhumane criminals but residents’ killers are enjoying their abusive power as no parents are willing to file a FIR Please refer lawrato.com/bharatiya-nyaya-… Let’s send killers of young doctors to jail to keep medical education safe

As for legal duty hours of resident doctors is concerned. RGUHS Karnataka cites PGMER 2023 guidelines of NMC which suggest reasonable hours of work and rest What is reasonable duty hours and rest? 8 hours duty 8 hours sleep and other 8 hours to spend with family and to do academic and personal activities. Very simple

NIMHANS has information on the number of students that quit the college but not on those that took psychiatric counseling. Why so? Those medical college that refuse to share number of PG students that took psychiatric counseling tend to have higher rate of counseling and toxicity which is the major reason for refusal of information
