Big shoutout to @jtsteadheating Josh Stead of JT Stead Heating and Energy for installing his first Viessmann, a Vitocal 150-A 16kw! Not only did he give a Grade 2 listed building a complete system repipe, but he also installed 22 new radiators. Excited to see your next install!

Has anyone bothered renewing their RECC for 2025 or are we all now just scrapping it off?

12 heat pumps and only 2 boilers this year, definitely heading in the right direction 💪🏻
Last year I fitted more boilers than heat pumps. This years aim is to fit more heat pumps than boilers 💪🏻

Happy to find av COP for the last week for our 3mo old @Viessmann Vitocal 150 ASHP is 6.4 and - a more solid benchmark - efficiency (heating+DHW) is 60.8% of the Carnot theoretical limit. Keen to know what DT flow control could achieve @jtsteadheating @Peter_Spurway #heatgeeks

Rachel Reeves had fucked all farmers, she has destroyed their ability to pass farms on to their children, and broken the future of all our great estates, it is an appalling decisions which shows the government has ZERO understanding of the what matters to rural voters.

It strikes me we are going to see a big step up in SCOP values from modern heat pumps as manufacturers add more sophisticated control systems and installers improve and refine their designs. Thanks to Josh Stead @jtsteadheating for our system implementation.

Pleased with result of fine tuning flow rates for heating & hot water on our 3 month old @Viessmann Vitocal 150 heat pump. Now get up to 65% of theoretical Carnot efficiency limit for heating and 58% for hot water. Would be even better with DT flow control! #heatpumps #heatgeeks

Will be interesting to see what changes in the minus temps.. 🥶
So it's been a bit a journey and learning curve. With some final changes completed a few weeks ago by @jtsteadheating (highly recommend). COP up, electric usage down, heat pump not working as hard and house still at circa 21˚C (screenshot with COP at 2.5 is from last year)

We've installed an air source heat pump on our 17th century grade 2 listed house. Fascinated to find that actual heat losses are only 2/3 of modelled estimates, even though I used heat-loss U-values from published studies on traditional buildings. The system is working perfectly.

Not so sure on the accuracy of the source but I saw this in this months Housebuilder magazine.. A very sad statistic if it’s correct. Heat pumps in new builds should have been mandatory 15 years ago.

Class days training on the Xtend at @Intergasheating today. These lot don’t get anywhere near the level of attention they deserve for the products they’ve got and their capabilities. Looking forward to seeing big things from them at Installer Show.
