Giving out boxes of raisins on Halloween is some truly villainous shit. If your house gets egged after that move, I’m not snitching on the kids.

Forty years ago I didn’t know anyone at ESPN’s personal opinion on politics. Hell, I didn’t even know their personal opinions of the athletes they covered. And I had no idea what a beautiful thing that was.

From the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland:
"While we respect the Holy Father's love for his hometown team, we are sending our prayers to our friends at the corner of Carnegie and Ontario as the Cleveland Guardians are in Chicago to take on the White Sox for game 4 of the ALDS."

No matter if you're a metalhead or not, if you have a favorite Priest song, play it today; to honor Ian's 57 years of faithful recording + touring in the band.
He deserves to have the world playing his music today. 🙏

Y’all have been in my DMs asking me to speak on the CORNELL 7 because you know I teach my boys about consent. So let’s talk about it.
I’m not here to determine anybody’s guilt or innocence. But the conversation happening around this case exposes a much bigger issue with how we teach young people about sex, consent, drugs, alcohol and personal responsibility.
My standard for these boys has NEVER been simply “don’t cross the legal line.”
That’s the floor.
I want them to have enough wisdom, discipline and character to recognize situations they shouldn’t be in to begin with.
I don’t want to raise a technically innocent idiot. I want to raise a wise man.

Andrew Wyeth is best known for his tempera paintings, but many people may not know that he originally established his reputation with watercolor.
@ClevelandArt 's “Spectacular Freedom” explores Wyeth’s watercolors with nearly 75 works—some never before exhibited publicly—and places them in the context of the explosion of interest in watercolor in the U.S. during his career, beginning in the 1930s.
See Wyeth from a different perspective. 🎨

Created by campers at America’s Camp in 2006, “The Feathers of the Phoenix” is a 15-foot-wide papier-mâché sculpture inspired by the mythological phoenix, a symbol of renewal and rebirth.
Each "feather" was based on a person the child wished to honor: someone who had supported them or a person of great personal importance. The imagery could be figurative or metaphorical, a name or a phrase.
Today, “The Feathers of the Phoenix” is part of "In Their Honor: 25 Years of 9/11-Inspired Service," now open at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum.
As a generation comes of age with no lived memory of 9/11, the exhibition explores how individuals and communities transformed grief into service and how that service continues to touch lives across the country and around the world. Access is included in your #911Museum ticket. ow.ly/rQqc50ZNW9O

I liked the world better when the news came on for 30 minutes and then we did other shit for 23 1/2 hours. Now the news follows you around all day like a hobo begging for change.

They hanged him at dawn.💔
The Islamic Republic executed rapper Erfan Mirzaei on Sunday, September 6, at the morning adhan, in Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan. No warning. No last call to his family. The rope and the silence.
He was a young rapper. His crime was standing against a regime that kills to survive. He sang of freedom and hope in a country where a song can cost your life. Those who knew him remember a young man full of fire, art, and big dreams. The regime stole all of it in a single dawn, while the world slept.
He was arrested during the January protests and executed in secret, while the Islamic Republic continues slaughtering January protesters in Iran's prisons under a total news blackout.
His funeral is today, Say his name. Do not let the gallows have the last word.

There are really no words to describe how much Wendell Berry's work has meant to me, my family, and our hopes.
Tonight, though, I'm thinking about Wendell's Tanya.
