@X pays creators for original content. @YouTube pays creators for views. @TikTokComms has helped turn attention into an economy of its own. Meanwhile, Africa has millions of creators building audiences every day. But for many of them, monetization still largely stops at views, ads, sponsorships and brand deals. I keep coming back to one question: What about the value of the relationship itself? A musician, comedian, a founder, an athlete, a lawyer, a doctor, a developer, an industry expert etc... People already want more than their content. They want access; a conversation, advice, guidance, an experience, a little of their time. There has to be more value in an audience than likes and views. What happens when African creators and professionals can monetize their access, time, knowledge and proximity too? And more importantly: would Africans actually pay for easier access to people they already follow, respect or want to learn from? We think there’s something here. We’re already building it. Curious what Africa thinks. 👀
