Kinetic is Evolving: Changes coming to the $JOULE token and the Kinetic protocol. Big things are coming for Kinetic. As we prepare to expand and roll out major updates to the protocol, it's important that the protocol's token, $JOULE, evolves as well. That is why this epoch (ending Sep 29th) will be the final epoch that Kii Stake rewards and rebates are awarded. Upcoming Changes: - Rebates on fees through the various Kii tiers will sunset after this epoch. - Kii Stake and Voting will be discontinued, aligning governance more directly with our new vision for the protocol. (Unstaking restrictions on $KII have already been removed) - The JOULE/sFLR Farm will remain incentivized for, at minimum, the next five months. - Kinetic's ISO pool (JOULE, FLR, USDC) will remain available on Kinetic for the foreseeable future, subject to ongoing community demand. By curbing rewards emissions of the $JOULE token, we aim to transition it from being an "incentives token" to a true "protocol token." Creating a token model that is simpler, more sustainable tong term, and better aligned with the upcoming growth of the protocol. Our first year and a half has been an extremely exciting journey, and now, as we continue to mature and prepare to expand, we see even greater opportunity in refining our model to align with our long-term vision for the future of Kinetic. Kinetic is enabling the @FlareNetworks community to perform liquidations on May 8th! Advanced users can check positions that are undercollateralized and earn 10% on any liquidated capital. This increases decentralization, rewards users, and speeds up the raising of borrow caps.
