“They don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” - a mentor discussing working with local groups in Hawaii. Lead with ❤️ and relationship
The PNW inspired a lot of my writing and visual direction in this new EP. My question became, “How can I capture the same feelings in the places around me?” I romanticize my life in a “boring place.” I hope that comes through in the project.
Another caveat of this EP, my external hard drive got effed up and I lost the project file for “Have a nice glass of water” (track 2). So there are some mouth sounds I couldn’t erase. I started noticing them after doing podcast work.
still trying to convince myself its okay to release stuff even if my mic isnt the best, but i always feel like i need to put my best foot forward to be taken seriously. Then i see artists like D’leesa or Julie Ragbeer who inspire me cause they dgaf about shit like that😩
I changed my mentality this year. What if I just make everything with the tools I have? Edit myself. Shoot easy videos around my home. Use the beats my friends sent me. Just make something and put it out and let it be fun.
That’s 5 right there let’s call it an EP. I haven’t shared anything in so long. So I’m starting to put it out quietly. Just Bandcamp for now. Then SoundCloud. And I have music and lyric videos for all 5 songs. You’ll see some teasers and they’ll go on YouTube.
Visuals are done for II Worlds and 2 other new songs. Been dusting off my DSLR and capturing moments in daily life. We don’t need locations and costume. Just a feeling and a vision. Liminal space and beach vibes nowhere near a shoreline.
