JUST A THOUGHT FOR THE FUTURE OF THE ONE PIECE CARD GAME Japanese card game companies are generally known for their continuous promotion, which I really admire and respect because it shows how much they care about their communities. For example, Pokémon is already celebrating its 30th anniversary, yet it still promotes the game in schools here in the Philippines. Like, wow! It shows humility and commitment, even when you’re already running a behemoth of a company. BUT, there’s another reason why Pokémon players remain dedicated to the game, continue perfecting their craft, and help the community grow stronger and bigger. Pokémon has a points system that rewards its CONSISTENT top-performing players. You don’t become a consistent top performer through variance alone. Consistency means you’ve poured your heart and soul into your craft while others are sleeping. I’m just wondering: why can’t Bandai’s card games implement a similar system, or at least adopt some of these practices? For me, One Piece is the best IP because I’ve been a huge fan since I was a kid. (Yeah, back in the early 2000s, when One Piece was televised one episode per day on our local network because internet access in the Philippines was still a privilege. 🤣) But top competitive players aren’t going to stick around forever if things continue this way. The system needs to change, even if just a little. An average player wouldn’t mind paying a $20–$60 entry fee when their deck already costs around $100–$400, even at the lowest rarities, simply because they love the game. I also believe players wouldn’t mind paying that much as long as event capacity increases accordingly. We get it. @official_BCG_JP wants to keep the game as affordable as possible for the community, and many of us, myself included, will always be grateful for that. But please, the system needs to evolve a little for the future of the game. Promoting is one thing. Security in being able to compete is another. One Piece's The Best! 🙏🏻
