tbh there's no need for him to it so I get it. utamasa have been pre-gold + silver for the past few seasons (kida/morita were silver). my guess is kahoyu tested together (they have been pre-gold for a few seasons). idk how often they do testing but I'm sure it's less than singles

yeah, pre-silver (for at least one partner) is typically required for juniors for junior nationals and pre-gold (one partner) for seniors. ikuko are both pre-silver (they were bronze at jnats last season), pre-gold: kahoyu, rikaatsu, shingo, haruno, utana. masaya is silver
