What Jillian Michaels completely missed is that the white folks who did not personally own slaves gleefully participated in the economy and white supremacy created by slavery. Slavery turned America into an economic superpower. That is indisputable. And her βnot all white peopleβ argument makes her look foolish. Nobody would ever dare minimize the Holocaust that way (nor should they).
But the continual denial of the impact of slavery is widely accepted and itβs disgusting.

Sonya Masseyβs murder at the hands of Officer Sean Grayson wasnβt just senseless. It was evil!
Itβs the type of evil you βrebuke in the name of Jesusβ. The video of her death is one that justifies the fear she answered the door with even though she called 911 herself. The lack of protection for black women has always been evident, but the lack of value for Sonyaβs life was even more heart breaking. There is no justice that will ever restore family, nor the communities faith in those who are paid to protect & serve.
