My first visit to X since December last year. I only wanted to check a few facts circulating elsewhere.
I'm not here to preach... We all make out own choices. However, I'm staggered at who is still here. I can't support a egotistical man who enables haters and abusers.
He's refused to ban an account promoting the burning of Jews. That's what I was checking here for myself.
Anyway, we all have our own moral compass.
There are better things out there, but some only want another twitter. Learning new things -- keeps you young

Slowly, the man is building his own curated social media service. I hope you have other social media plans?

If you need me, I am mostly over on #Mastodon now.

I can't compromise my own values of respect and inclusivity on a platform run by a guy who is opening it back up to all the banned users who have insulted, attacked, and spread hatred on here.
If you're all about #genealogy and are interested in trying #Mastodon as an alternative to Twitter, there's a server just for you.

I offer my eternal gratitude for the sacrifice so many have made to maintain the freedom I enjoy. One day soon I hope others around the globe find peace.

So chief blue bird was telling us all 7 months ago about political neutrality. Today he tells everyone to vote Republican. Doomed
For everyone looking to move to/try #Mastodon to replace the fallen blue bird that was Twitter.... Don't be daunted but the 'which server' question. In essence it works the same, but you select a server to be based on. It's where your data is stored.
Ideally you pick a server of like minded individuals. Cookery, communities, region. Whatever. Some are full at the moment. More will appear. The server name forms part of your handle/ID. You can move in the future.
They all linkup and you can interact with everyone.
I'm [email protected], so I am on the server named mastodon.scot since I'm Scottish π
I'm on #mastodon. My id [email protected]
Might as well prepare for the demise of Twatter.
I've just seen the @santanderuk TV advert with @antanddec and the scammer pants! Do those guys really need the money? Who advised the bank on this awful advert?
In no world would watching that advert make a typical person think 'oh I must switch banks'
