#assembly
I started learning assembly in order to write own programming language. Sounds fun?
We know how big micro services should be - not bigger for an AI context to hold.
IMO it’s a quite good metric
I have a home lab with mini-pcs. One of them on high load just turned off. No logs, no kernel panic. I fixed it and it was a hardware problems.
Any ideas what was the root cause? #homelab
For the first time in YEARS I gave a talk on a meetup meetup.com/gocracow/events/3…
I forgot what's the feeling, how stressful it's still is and how many people still attend such events.
I have @Loxone as my smart home solution but there's one "but" - the Loxone Config works on windows only so I had to keep a laptop with win11 or having a virtual machine only for this purpose.
I started working on github.com/bkielbasa/loxone-… that's a port of the Config to Rust.
Spent a weekend wiring SSO across my homelab — Vault, Grafana, Nextcloud, Headlamp, kubectl, all behind Authentik.
Wrote up every gotcha in the order it bit me. The empty groups claim alone ate an evening.

I use AI every day, but all the articles/videos about "Every engineer should use this AI tools" or "AI Tooling for Software Engineers in 2026" is slowly driving me crazy.
There's no (almost) a single blog right now witch doesn't say anything about AI, it seems.
this is what you don't want to see when working with AI and infrastructure
"The database is empty - all tables are gone. Let me check when this data directory was initialized and if the old data might still exist."
and one more:
"Key additions:
- Severity upgraded to P0 with data loss
- Full data loss assessment table showing what was lost vs intact
- Extended timeline through migration recovery (09:18 - 09:52)
- Data loss event at ~08:17 when initdb overwrote the existing PGDATA
and one more finding:
"The PGDATA was freshly initialized at Feb 14 08:17 — the original data was lost during the recovery attempts. The database exists but all tables are gone. We need to run migrations to recreate the schema. Let me
find the migration setup."
Please, don't use AI to generate Postmortem automatically. It doesn't make sense at all.
The AI won't ask you additional changes, will challenge your findings and won't ask you to gather more info about the impact, etc.
I love AI but there are places where it's not ready yet
A few days I ago I posted a new blog post on my blog: developer20.com/pprof-part2/
From this article you'll learn what a CPU profile is and how to use it to find CPU-bound bottlenecks. Happy reading!

Just published Part 2 of my profiling series! 🚀 Dive deeper into CPU profiling and understand where your application's time really goes. Don't miss out on optimizing your code efficiently! 🕒💻 Read it here: developer20.com/pprof-part2/ #DevTools #CodeOptimization #Profiling
