There are different classes of Artistes with respect to the results they produce. Some Artistes celebrate only streams. Some celebrate only chart positions. Some celebrate co-signs. Others celebrate something different: market penetration and brand acceptance, getting booked, performing in different cities, seeing people sing their songs back to them, and becoming part of the culture of the places they enter. As an Artiste, you must be clear about what actually matters to you. If you are celebrating thousands of streams but people don’t vibe with your songs, don’t sing along to them, promoters aren’t interested in booking you, and you aren’t creating demand for live performances, you should question what is actually driving your growth. Streams and charts are useful indicators, but they don’t tell the whole story. Music is ultimately a show business. In the long run, you should desire acceptance; people wanting to hear you, promoters wanting you on their platforms, audiences responding to your music, and your songs creating economic and emotional value in the market. Real growth isn’t just about numbers you can screenshot. It is about the demand those numbers represent. Don’t just be good, be valuable.
