Hardship days are part of our reality!
Here are some helpful reminders…
Thanks to Wholehearted School Counseling!
Today we send our students off with a letter from a champion. An adult who believes in them; someone who will always be in their corner. Thank you to all the parents, grandparents, and staff who took the time to help make this happen❤️ @arwnek @LCS_BC @LCS_BC @The_Mr_Dalton
Thanks to our amazing family and friends, 18 kids are going home with a book from our second quarter book giveaway! So glad to be able to share the book love with our students ❤️📕 @arwnek @MonicaHesse @kwamealexander @JP_Books @NealShusterman
Growing our writing craft using @ANNELAMOTT letter to readers as a mentor text. Our kids wrote some amazing letters about their passions: sports, shopping, travel, Tik Tok, and even...Draco Malfoy ❤️ Love their creativity! (Shared with their permission) @arwnek
Thank you @karianneholt for this wonderful book. And to all of the divergent thinkers I’ve had the pleasure of teaching over the years: “Your differences make you shine bright.” I see you ❤️
Thank you for this. If you missed it, spend some time watching today. #KidLit4BlackLives
Full video of the #KidLit4BlackLives Rally is available.

Thank you Mr Tarr for helping Connor blossom as a writer this year AND for finding ways to connect with kids despite the distance! @HireaGM

*I'm an educator.
I tried helping my kid...a different grade level & content area than I have taught.
It was hard! Imagine having no teaching experience. Imagine having only 1 parent. Imagine worrying about food or livelihood.
Please maintain compassion.

We asked our 8th graders to write about "a Gift and a Gap" of this time at home. Here are their gifts. The words that rose to the top tell us so much: family. outside. together. play. TIME. @arwnek @LCS_BC #myohioclassroom

If you're a teacher right now, your first responsibility is to your students. Not to your discipline, not to your syllabus, and certainly not to some fantasy vision of a fall 2020 return to normalcy that you're carrying around in your head.
Shout out to my son’s amazing teacher Mr Tarr for continuing his daily read aloud via video during this time off school. Having that sense of routine, and connecting with his teacher, made Connor so happy this morning! 📕❤️@HireaGM @LebanonSchools

"I’m not the ambassador for young people. That’s YOU. You are the ambassador for yourselves. My job is to create a space as an advocate to make sure you can champion yourself in a way that actually works. I want to put the power back in your hands."- @JasonReynolds83
It makes us so happy when former students come back to visit. We’re unbelievably proud of this young man ❤️ @alexrbrunk you still owe him a race ;) @arwnek @JerrickKelley3
