Eric Bieniemy on rookie RB Emmett Johnson: “It's hard for me to keep giving this Nebraska Cornhusker this much damn respect ... it ain't by chance that he's had success when called upon, because you talk about a kid that does not take anything for granted. He goes out there and he works — whatever you ask him to do, he's gonna try to excel at it.” Adds: “That's the type of mental and physical attitude that you want from all your players.”

“I think Xavier's done a heck of a job. He's very competitive, he works his ass off, he's doing a great job of blocking in the run game ... now, can he be better in certain areas? Yes.” Eric Bieniemy on WR Xavier Worthy

Steve Spagnuolo on the defense's lack of sacks this season: “When the offense drops back to throw the ball, all we're concerned about is the end result, and quite frankly, I mean, sacks are glamorous, and don't get me wrong, we'd like to have them. But on a third-down play, if a D-lineman is knocking the ball down, it's really getting the same thing — they're punting.”

Steve Spagnuolo on whether DB Jadon Canady will receive a bigger role on defense moving forward: “I think so ... he's a little bit like Chris Roland-Wallace in that he plays a number of different positions ... for a young guy, he takes command of communication, and that's not easy for a young guy going in with a bunch of vets.”

Dave Toub on not making the switch to Justin Tucker at kicker: “Because Butker's our kicker, Butker's on our team, and we're paying Butker. Butker has won a lot of football games for us — Butker is a champion, and he deserves the right to be exhausted on this thing.”

Dave Toub on fixing Harrison Butker: “You exhaust every possibility to get this guy right, and that's what we're doing right now — we're not just gonna pull the plug.”

Dave Toub on Harrison Butker's missed field goal attempt late in the game vs Denver: “Had he made it, we'd be sitting here going, ‘Hey, Butker's back’ … he missed it. He's missed kicks this year, and we've got an eye on it, and we're working on it.”
