Throwback to May 20,2026 when I released this video. I absolutely believe local media would have happily let the LASD budget crisis stay buried had my multiple posts not gone viral - including the message reporting that personnel were told to consider bringing THEIR OWN TOILET PAPER to work. On May 7, I published what personnel were sharing about supply shortages and overtime restrictions. Another showed warnings from inside the department about staffing and deputy safety. Four days later on May 11, NBC picked up the story. Thirteen days after my initial posts, Sheriff Robert Luna was on FOX responding to what they referred to as “temporary budget restrictions.” Notice the language: “staffing challenges.” “Temporary restrictions.” When personnel are being told to consider supplying their own toilet paper, the public deserves more than reassuring language and a television appearance. I published the messages. You shared them. Making these issues harder to ignore.

Thank you to the @latimes for sharing my story with readers. My path to becoming a prosecutor wasn’t one I always imagined. Now, I’m running for Los Angeles City Attorney with a commitment to serving this city and earning your trust. I hope you’ll take a moment to read the profile and learn more about why I’m running. latimes.com/california/story…

EXCLUSIVE: Animal advocates allege puppies are being sold for as little as $45 at a massive homeless encampment beneath a Los Angeles area overpass. We went inside the encampment, where dogs, cats and kittens live among piles of trash and makeshift homes with working TVs.

Los Angeles election officials have no independent way to verify whether voters are US citizens beyond taking their word for it, according to the city’s top federal prosecutor.

Massive concession: Los Angeles election officials just told a federal court they have no independent way to verify citizenship beyond what voters attest. (They simply take their word for it.) Under federal law, only citizens may vote in federal elections. Yet California has not acted on the list of 20,000 suspected noncitizens or agreed to set aside their ballots. American citizens’ votes are being diluted in California.

Experience matters. Leadership matters. And the stakes for Los Angeles are too high for on the job training. As Director of Specialized Prosecutions for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, I oversee more than 300 attorneys and staff, managing some of the most serious and complex criminal cases in the county. I’ve tried more than 100 cases before juries. My opponent has never tried a single jury trial. I have decades of experience supervising attorneys, managing personnel, making difficult decisions and being held accountable for results. My opponent has never supervised a single attorney or managed a legal office. These are not small differences. They are fundamental differences in our qualifications to lead. The Los Angeles City Attorney oversees one of the largest municipal law offices in America. This is no place to learn how to manage, supervise or lead. Los Angeles deserves a City Attorney who has already demonstrated the judgment, experience and leadership this job demands. I’m not running to learn the job. I’m running because I’m prepared to do it on day one.

Guys. There is nothing polarizing about this man. But tragically propaganda can create that narrative. The truth is, Chief McDonnell has been one of the most balanced and steady individuals to hold that position. He is a solid leader who is being used as a political football. It’s wrong. I’ve worked under bosses who weren’t just bad for the community, but for cops as well. He’s not one of them.
Chief McDonnell, my friend and colleague for over 40 years, including the seven years we worked closely together at the LAPD, has been in the face of significant adversity and hostility from the Progressive Left. He has been doing an outstanding job leading the much reduced in size LAPD as it has faced continuous crises over the last several years. Replacing him before the end of his term would create additional crises of monumental proportions. It is heavily rumored that mayoral candidate Nithya Raman’s choice to replace McDonnell would be the recently defeated progressive left LA District Attorney George Gascon. There was nothing golden about the Daryl Gates era of the LAPD. It was one of the darkest chapters in the department’s history, marked by racial profiling, aggressive policing of Black and Latino communities, Operation Hammer, the brutal beating of Rodney King, and the civil unrest of 1992. Mayoral candidate Nithya Raman recently described the LAPD under Gates as the “gold standard” for immigration enforcement. She has since clarified that she was referring specifically to Special Order 40 and has condemned Gates’ record of racism and police brutality. But you cannot separate the treatment of immigrants from the treatment of Black and Latino communities under the same police chief. You cannot selectively celebrate one aspect of that era while minimizing the painful legacy of the rest. History cannot be rewritten by parsing it into convenient pieces. Councilwoman Raman’s explanation does not change the fact that her characterization was deeply troubling. She owes the people of Los Angeles an acknowledgment that her choice of words was wrong, and an apology.

What happened to the audits on homelessness spending and the EDD promised by California State Controller Malia Cohen? She told me she didn't want to duplicate work of others in state government. She also told me her office needs more money to do audits:

Don't hand LA back over to the DSA/Bonin/Gascon crowd. We already lived through that failed social experiment, and it was awful. We've worked too hard and come too far to go backwards.
LA Councilwoman Traci Park (@CouncilwomanTraciPark) shares updates on homelessness in Venice, LAPD/LAFD staffing, and her candid take on the LA mayoral race. Watch this clip and catch the full interview on #DeborahKobyltLIVE.

Sadly Katie didn't even make it to Saturday so SNL couldn't parody her. But Canada did. And it's fantastic.

NEW: Cleaner Streets. Just Try It! Urine, feces and trash in our public spaces—the inept politicians who run California should be ASHAMED of themselves. We can’t keep voting the same way and expecting different results. Here’s my plan 🧵

WOW 🚨 Skid Row worker is Los Angeles says drug supplies are now being delivered to the homeless with golf carts “I work in Skid Row — Earlier today, I saw a golf cart driving around and this is a city funded golf cart that's passing out literal crack pipes, syringes and other stuff to get high. That's beyond me. Like, seeing that, I was, I was baffled. It's crazy that our own city council is paying for that stuff. They're just adding to this drug epidemic here. They say they want to do better, but I don't believe it” He also says based on his work in Skid Row roughly 80% of the people there have absolutely no desire to get better, they actually like living there because everything is free and they don’t have to work “I can honestly say about 80% of the homeless population here don't want anything to do with getting help. They don't want to try to get better. They're just comfortable — they get everything handed to them. They get money, food, clothes, and housing as well. Which is crazy” The homeless on skid row are given literally everyone they could ever need for free - Multiple hot meals per day - Clothing, including shoes, backpacks and seasonal items like sweaters - Hygiene supplies - Cash aid, Los Angeles County General Relief provides roughly $221 per month for single adults - They all get EBT food stamps - Shelter, beds - Full medical care - Free foot massages (yes this is real, video proof added in clip) - Sterile syringes/needles - Glass pipes including crack pipes, meth pipes, oil burners, smoking foils, screens and mouthpieces - Naloxone (Narcan) for overdose reversal - Fentanyl test strips - Related kit items such as cookers, sterile water, alcohol swabs, tourniquets and petroleum jelly All this is 100% free paid for by taxpayers. All you have to be is a drug addict who doesn’t want to work

SHOCKING: This tunnel in LA was built so kids could cross the street to school. It’s now filled with drug needles and human waste. Juan cleaned it up himself. But three months later, the squalor is back and WORSE than before. He’s doing the job we pay the highest taxes in America to get done, while useless politicians let our streets ROT. That end when I’m governor. Clean Streets by the 2028 Olympics.
