One of the survivors interviewed on the BBC 10 o'clock news last night said she was arrested for prostitution at the age of 14/15 in a room full of adult men. The issue isnt the police were too politically correct it's that they were negligent to the point of complicity.
Two things are true at the same time: political correctness failed victims of Pakistani rape gangs; and people of Pakistani heritage in our country are equally sickened by these crimes and fear being tarred with the same brush. Interview @PippaCrerar 👇🏻 theguardian.com/politics/202…

Please share this to convince @AXA to do the right thing:
1. I don’t often tweet about my personal life, but on 1st November, my mum Jane was hit by a large vehicle as a pedestrian in St. Louis, USA. She suffered a severe brain injury & remains in a coma in hospital. Here's Jane & me in happier times.

Congratulations Margaret Calvert who picked up the prestigious Type Directors Club Medal in New York. Margaret created the distinctive Calvert font that has become instantly recognisable as a symbol of the Tyne and Wear Metro since 1980. 👏🙌

Tom Nicholson’s (@TomNicko) profile of the men inside Mr Blobby remains one of our favourite commissions, not least because it gave us the chance to run a double-spread of Blobby in repose across the centrefold of Issue 15. the-fence.com/mr-blobby-has-…

Whatever party you support, the biggest story of the night must be that the far-right will now sit in Westminster. It will receive taxpayer money, get airtime 1 in 6 voters support a party whose representatives think Hitler was "brilliant" and call black people 'jungle bunnies'

As Vivid Projects gear up to the final event in their current space on July 5th, here’s a quick look at 11 years of design from their time at Minerva Works. An absolute blast to work on. Looking forward to the next chapter in their new space in Allison Street

But I am most struck, as with Diane Abbott, by the party machine's intentional cruelty and desire to humiliate her. It's deplorable.

Today an 88-year lease on 47 Station Street, Birmingham comes to an end. It’s a chance to reflect on the remarkable life of this resilient little picture house behind New St Station, arguably the oldest cinema in the UK. What might its next chapter might look like? 1/21
