A democracy requires a peaceful exchange of ideas, and the representation from different perspectives.
There are many Pahlavi supporters who share these ideals. And there are many who don’t.
My comment section is an example of the latter.
More similar to MEK than USA.
Replying to @Lakemole2g
A nation needs to be unified enough, and the opposition needs to be strong enough, to overthrow an existent government and replace it with an alternative.
And an alternative with legitimacy from its citizens is one that is democratic, which represents its widespread views

I've been in politics for a quarter century. It's hard to express how staggering it is to see a conversation like this on corporate US media. The Morning Joe panel gobsmacked by the directness of @AbdulElSayed's points.

Appreciate this clarification but you went onto CNBC and Bloomberg basically saying this is the end for semiconductor stocks
The massive tech sell-off yesterday on fears around the Blue Wave delaying and disrupting the AI data center build out in the US was at a magnitude actually treating tech stocks and especially semis like this mid-term Democratic win will actually end the AI buildout in the US….and it will not! We would characterize this sell-off level and magnitude with the tech sell- offs we saw in March 2020 during Covid and the April 2025 Liberation Day sell-off…which were golden buying opportunities to own the tech winners and this one is the same 🐂🌊

The midterm results send a clear message: How we show up in the world affects our lives at home, and Americans understand that. When we alienate allies, appease autocrats, impose arbitrary tariffs, and drive needless conflict, American families pay the price. The Administration’s actions over the last two years have had real consequences for our security, our economy, and our everyday lives. Americans have spoken loud and clear. We should act on the message they're sending. A good place to start: a diplomatic resolution to President Trump's war of choice with Iran.
It is unbelievable that the market lost over $1 trillion over normal political jargon.
Texas Governor-elect Gina Hinojosa: "We can have a strong working relationship with Elon Musk and his companies, but it has to be on our terms"
Jake Tapper asked her about blocking the sale of a Texas state park to SpaceX, and whether Musk might leave the state over it. Her answer:
“Well, look, as I said before, we have to have balance. These are our beaches we’re talking about. I mean, selling our beach to Elon Musk is just something that is almost unimaginable. It’s unacceptable. Our beaches are enshrined in our Texas Constitution as being free and open to the people of Texas because they are our beaches."
"We can have a strong working relationship with Elon Musk and his companies, but it has to be on our terms. It cannot be just running over the people of Texas. And that’s what changes now that I will be governor.”
Complete over reaction by financial markets. The AI boom isn’t over. Data centers will still be built.
Nothing fundamentally has changed just because the Governor of Texas is saying she wants some more community involvement in data center construction.
Overblown fear of Dems
Hinojosa on AI/Data Centers: We have always been a pro-business state in Texas. But what changes now with me as governor is it has to be a partnership that benefits Texans.
What has happened is data centers have moved into mostly rural communities, and there are no rules and laws to protect Texans and Texans are being taken advantage of.
So the difference is we will have laws to protect Texans, and we need to stop what we are doing with data centers until we have those protections, we can have a strong economy, strong industry and protections for the people of Texas. Those things are not mutually exclusive. And I'll make sure as governor, I lead to ensure that that happens.
Tapper: So you're not ruling out that data centers will be able to be built in Texas. It's just you want there to be regulations to protect communities. Is that right?
Hinojosa: And that communities have a seat in the at the table to decide if and how these data centers come into their communities. Texas is like a country. We are so diverse in all the ways different communities have different needs, and those communities have to be able to walk away from the table to leverage what they need for their community. So absolutely, we need to make sure they are partners in this effort. And that has always been my position. It is not that I hate data centers. I hate the way they are taking advantage of Texas, and that stops when I'm governor.
