I know all tweets are about ChatGPT right now, but anyway I gave it a Google code interview, and it performed at the level of a decent junior (although much faster). It's only going to get better.

Quite frankly I'm starting to think really negatively of the GDPR and the right to privacy if it results in nonsense like this: teapawt.net/pevchikh/status/159758…
1/20 Dear friends, I need to draw your attention to something super bad and super important (and it doesn’t originate from Russia for once). Last week the EU has taken a shockingly stupid and damaging decision to close down national corporate registers of beneficial owners 🧵🧵🧵

1.5˚C of #globalwarming is a limit agreed under the #ParisAgreement In October 2022 it reached 1.22°C If the warming trend observed over the last 30-years continued unaltered the 1.5°C target would be reached by September 2034 Check our interactive app: bit.ly/3qKvbAv

😢 R.I.P. Fred Brooks was the author of "The Mythical Man Month" a book that was hugely influential on so many of us. Also his paper "No Silver Bullet" would be on most people's shortlist of most influential papers.

Wow, @kentcdodds just giving a killer demo in #remixconfeu. Collocate your server backend and component implementation into a single file, and then be able to reuse that through your application. I don't know of any other framework that can do that.

Let's be clear. Eli Lilly should apologize for increasing the price of insulin by over 1,200% since 1996 to $275 while it costs less than $10 to manufacture. The inventors of insulin sold their patents in 1923 for $1 to save lives, not to make Eli Lilly's CEO obscenely rich.

The Wacom driver in Lenovo's spawns powershell once a minute to see if the Win10 UWP app is installed. Truly we live in a hell driven by absence of shame nor corrective control to the programmer-class stealing our lives.

If you looked at the Leaflet GitHub activity chart exactly one year ago, you'd assume the project's future is pretty grim. But look at that amazing burst of activity since! Miracles do happen in open source. Thank you to everyone who makes this happen. ❤️

This image is such an emotional rollercoaster. It simultaneously outlines the fact we're destined for massive change no matter what, but that we're also empowered to shape that change in myriad ways. Very stressful! But in a somewhat hopeful way! Argh!
A reminder of the choices that global society has to make about the climate: Delaying action on reducing emissions commits the world to live with severe consequences. Rapid action now means a more habitable world for all. There is no going back. Choose wisely.

I think designers underestimate just how good, usable, inclusive, & sometimes even refreshingly delightful "boring" design is. - Visible labels & instructions. - Link underlines! - Good text contrast. - Lists! - Links! (to separate pages vs. modal dialogs) Usable > aesthetic.
