Just laugh. It's better that way. Stuff about Barça, pop music, culture; football nerd, writer for Barcelona Football Blog, The Athletic. Pedant, grouch.

Had an online encounter recently with someone who tried to make the product they were selling look good by shit-talking the competition. That is a sure-fire way to lose my business. If you are better, tell me why in a way that I can undestand.

Zelensky confirms a trilateral meeting with the U.S. and Russia. Man, like Michael Corleone going to that meeting with Salozzo, I would be wanting iron-clad guarantees about my safety if I was Zelensky.

Of course, Bolsonaro wants to annul the election results because their side didn't win. If there is another election held, the result would be even more lopsided.

This is so intelligent, I want to cry: The 140 seats won by the student opposition against Serbia's nationalist government party will be taken up not by students, but by academics, professors & public figures from pre-chosen pool of 250 experts, selected by student plenums.

Mourinho’s Madrid were beautiful out of possession. They were so comfortable sitting in a 5-4-1 after leading entirely against the momentum and defending the box. Also set up well to find Mbappe y Diomande in the left wide to central channels constantly to stretch Barça.. 1.
I just don't understand why we played so slow in possession last night. That was the most un-Flick like performance we've had in a very long time. We were so stale. I don't get it.

What is kinda funny to me is that last summer, Barça needed a DM, CB and FB. This summer window, Barça will need a DM, CB and FB. The verities of life.

This is Novi Sad, the site of the horrific awning collapse that killed 16 people, sparking the massive student-led protests that led to Vučić's demise two years later. Seeing the entire place bounce like this is truly a once-in-a-lifetime thing.

The only news I am after now is the state of Espart.

For everybody feeling down after the results of our football team this week, a country of over 200 million voted against the neo-fascist candidate who was on course to win the election. A victory worth celebrating!

Brazil’s results tonight are a big endorsement for the idea that every country should have a second “are you you sure about that” election a couple weeks after the first one for the important stuff

They’re calling this the best tweet of all time
messaging my wife a link containing proof of her husband cheating on her from an anonymous instagram account and then when she clicks on it texting her to let her know she failed the family phishing test and she has to retake my cybersecurity course

And more crucially, people with something to lose valuing not losing that thing. Americans still have no idea what they have lost, never mind are set to lose.
In one day, two politicians - Bolsonaro in Brazil and Vucic in Serbia - with ties to Trump and his family have lost surprise elections, thanks to high turnout. The rise of the international far-right is not inevitable.

The week that grounded Barcelona. Flick and the lack of “freshness”, the PSG rotations and the 26 lost balls between Rodri and Pedri at the Clasico. Seven days to get some air for Barça now. @TheAthleticFC nytimes.com/athletic/7726038…

The best Barça teams were the best Barça teams because they could defend. People wax nostalgic about "Piquenbauer," forgetting that he, Puyol and Abidal could stop time, the midfield could run with and manage opponent counters. A team has to be able to defend in a normal sense.

I really enjoy Flick's team, have celebrated hell out of the last two league titles. But I also understand that that team's broader future is constrained, and I long for a day when they don't lose possession and I turn away from the screen saying, "Oh, shit. Here we go."

I said, previously, the CBs were fine if they could fix the space in front of them so that they only had one job. Not great, but fine. Rodri doesn't look to be that solution, and the flanks are, with a couple of injuries, exposed. Flick has problems to solve. Let's see how.
