I have to help a woman and 3 children (5 month old, 2 year old and 10 year old) find a safe place to go due to domestic violence. All the places that offer housing in Dallas are full. I want to get them an extended stay and deposit/rent for a new place. I can’t cover it all alone. No matter how much it is, it will help.

It’s Black Philanthropy month so if you’re in the spirit of giving to a Black led nonprofit, please consider mine, Millennial Maven Creative Foundation. We help women and youth get access to creative career fields.
This summer we partnered with FIFA Dallas for the Creatives Academy: World Cup Edition where they got to learn about a ton of the roles that help make an event like the World Cup possible. We also held fashion designer camp in partnership with JourAli Studios.
We’ve replaced over 100 instruments and creative supplies that were lost in natural disasters.
And we’re raising money for our first official grant at our annual event, Rooted In Rhythm in McKinney, TX on October 3rd.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but it’s illegal for landlords to:
- Lock you out or evict you without a court order.
- Shut off your heat, hot water, electricity, or other essential services to force you out of your home.
- Retaliate against you for reporting unsafe conditions or exercising your tenant rights.
- Leave serious health and safety hazards, like mold, unrepaired.
- Discriminate against you because of your race, disability, or other protected characteristics.
