WORKING PARENTS ARE BEING TREATED LIKE FOOLS!!
Imagine this.
You get up at 6am every morning while it’s still dark.
You go to work, you graft, you pay your taxes, and you try to give your kids a better life.
Then you find out that parents who don’t work and live on benefits will now get an extra £4,500 a year just because their child starts an apprenticeship.
And you?
You get nothing.
This isn’t just policy.
It feels personal.
Working families are the ones holding this country together. We pay for the schools, the hospitals, the benefits system itself. Yet time and time again we’re the ones left at the back of the queue.
Under the new scheme, families on Universal Credit will be compensated when their teenager starts an apprenticeship so they don’t lose money.
On paper it sounds helpful. In reality it’s another reminder that the system looks after those who take more than they give, while the people who keep everything going are expected to just shut up and pay.
It should always pay more to work than to stay on benefits.
That’s not right-wing. That’s not left-wing. That’s basic fairness.
When a government keeps rewarding the least deserving and ignoring the people who actually fund it, something is badly broken.
How much longer are ordinary working families expected to put up with this?

The only proper way to see the new year in (if not out or at a party) is by watching @bbcalba 🎊🎉🥳
Have a good one whatever you’re doing. Early one for me, I’ll be working overtime in CAMHS crisis.

UK supermarket food prices are out of control. Everyone is saying the same thing.
Hi @McDonaldsUK, just wanted to bring to your attention to one of your outlets in Northallerton. Was stuck waiting in the drive through for my order last night (two drinks) for 25mins! A record I think.
No update or apology from staff, and tried to give me the wrong order! 🤦♂️
Totally agree with this, it’s been a hard watch at times. He shuts Meg down very quickly so she doesn’t have a voice. 😬 #toxic
That conversation between Meg and Dejon was a masterclass in emotional abuse. Ladies in real life make sure you never let a man speak to you like that #LoveIslandUK #LoveIsland

9. Build muscle (especially leg muscle).
Your legs hold 60% of your muscle mass.
They’re insulin disposal machines.
More leg strength = more room to store glucose = lower insulin.
Squats are hormonal therapy.
Christmas isn’t ‘the most wonderful time of the year’ for everyone for a number of reasons. If you’re struggling, or in crisis, please call NHS 111 option 2 (mental health option).
Just remember, you’re not alone. 🕊️

'We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.'
'How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
'You must be,' said the Cat, 'or you wouldn't have come here.'
Thanks again @CastleHowardEst 🎄

Our members have voted to reject the NHS pay award in England.
They’ve shown their determination to demand more for nursing staff and patients. The UK government must listen and act.

So, er, yeah, I kinda got signed off my preceptorship today 😅
Now it’s time to settle in to my role, and begin developmental opportunities for my future, one of which is the nurse assessor and supervisor training which is now booked!

Lovely wholesome heartwarming TV on tonight; Yorkshire Great and Small. Worth a watch. Showcases Yorkshire and its beauty, just wish programmes like this didn’t always show Malham Cove all the time, it’s too over-visited as it is.
