The thing that really fuckin blows mines about the hip hop music industry is that hip hop inherently comes out of the counter culture but ofc big labels want a part of that so they offer extremely lucrative deals and then hip hop becomes available to the mainstream. Cool
Kind of a side note, its crazy to me how influential NYC drill is on ALL levels. Even the fucking feds tuning into the incidents and narratives around drill and taking notes to how they can use that to target other communities of color expressing themselves freely
Maybe, just maybe the mainstream still has a problem truly accepting our humanity and simply want to profit off of it, and reel us back in line when they see they are losing their grips on us and we truly start to believe we are free. #freekayflock #freedthang #freeleedrilly
