Ruto and Duale appeared to think they could use Ebola scare propaganda to punish Kenyans. But now that Middle Eastern countries have reportedly restricted travel from Kenya, the consequences are becoming clear. Suddenly, the Ebola narrative seems to have disappeared.
Duale must now confront the reality that these restrictions could also affect Kenyan Somalis and Muslims who wish to travel to Makkah for pilgrimage.
Public health concerns should never be turned into political propaganda. Ordinary Kenyans should not be made to pay the price for political games.
