In 2017 I was all out of money and stranded away from home, along the coast of Northern Washington state. It was my sons birthday and the only thing I could do to celebrate was ride our bikes down to a lake, go swimming, eat blackberries and then ride back to our trailer. I didn’t even know how I was going to pay for dinner that night. No presents and maybe no dinner. I was mad at God. I was mad at life. I felt hopeless. As we were riding our bikes down through a dark forest with huge pine trees and ferns all over the place, I could barely notice all of the beauty because I was so mad. Earlier I had gotten into an argument with my wife and I was super mean to my dog. I wasn’t fun to be around and I was literally ruining my son’s birthday. While on the trail in the middle of the forest down to the lake he stopped his bike and turned around and said he needed to go number two. Yikes. Right here? It was that type of day. I said, well, you’re going to have to do your best to find some natural toilet paper. I’ll see if I can find some. As I’m looking around the ground, in the most random, seldomly used trail and off to the side, right as I looked down, I see 4 letters staring me in the face: L O V E Made out of leaves, twigs and pine cones. This was a message sent directly to me from the Creator for that exact day. Reminding me to stop being mad and to just love the people around me. Love them no matter what. That’s what I did and it changed everything. I don’t know who needs to hear this today but for some reason I thought I had to share it. The Creator is very real. Your very ancestors are your best friends and they’re much closer than you think, even in the forest ready to show you a simple message. Don’t ever doubt any of it. You’re much more important than you think you are and they’re watching your every move, every struggle and every happy moment.
