Message to the young guys on here: It truly is important that you vote this election. I get it… “Doesn’t really affect me.” “I’m just in builder/founder mode, bro.” “I’m going to…later.” "The whole system is corrupt." Been there. Done that. I understand. But right now really is different. The big lesson from Covid was that you can’t sit on the sideline anymore. The “it doesn’t affect me” argument fell apart. Lockdowns. Kids not able to graduate. Forced vaccines with ensuing health consequences. Deplatforming. Destroying wealth. We were lucky it wasn't worse. But a safer future is nowhere close to guaranteed. Which is why you need to go vote. Do it for selfish reasons. Seriously. Be selfish. And if you are, then you’ll see how important it is to vote. In a world where Trump doesn’t win, your opportunities really will be more limited. You’ll still be able to make money, but you’ll have way more risks. Can’t sell anything controversial. Gotta be careful with your content for risk of being deplatformed. Everything will be harder for you. Want to sell supplements? How’s that going to go when the party of Big Pharma completely owns the government (even more than they do now?). Using AI for marketing? How much is it going to suck when LLMs get increasingly woke because EQUITY!(TM) (and Marxism) are the dominant ideology that permeate big tech and government? Want to scale and grow a business in general? It’ll be harder when more and more of your profits get taxed and redistributed. You run ads? It’s going to be a lot tougher if you can’t contrast healthy people vs unhealthy people, or talk about pain points that your product solves, because that’s not PC and makes people feel bad. There’s virtually zero chance that the economy thrives long-term under Harris. There’s a very good chance the economy thrives under Trump. That makes a difference. You might not pay attention to interest rates (I didn’t when I was 18, or even when I was 25), but it turns out they’re pretty important. When the economy rips, inflation is under control, and interest rates are down: you rake. People feel richer and they buy more of the products you sell. They take more shots at crypto and alt-coins you're a part of. Money flows into private equity and other funds, who in turn invest in and buy companies. You want to sell your business for FU money and win the game? Your odds are exponentially higher under Trump. Again, this isn’t just “stuff that doesn’t affect me bro.” I’ve been in the world of D2C and eCom for about 12 years now. That’s three election cycles. Starting with Obama, then Trump, now Biden. I can tell you emphatically - making money was easiest under Trump and it wasn't even close. If the alternative to Harris was some neocon, uniparty “Republican” I wouldn’t be saying this, because, frankly, it wouldn’t matter. Trump is different. Especially with the team around him. And it takes like 30 minutes to go early vote (my wife and I did so here in Miami-Dade on Tuesday). It was fast, easy, and also it just feels really damn good. You get this patriotic tingle. You have this moment of love and appreciation for your country and for your freedoms. It’s a special and sacred thing. And the last thing I’d want is for you to be kicking yourself for at least the next four years, possibly for decades to come, because you didn’t take 30 minutes to cast a vote.
