MADNESS: Georgia's newly elected Insurance Commissioner Keisha Sean Waites, a Democrat, stated in a TV interview her intent to ban credit scores and ZIP codes from insurance risk assessments, arguing they have no relation to calculating premiums Keisha Sean Waites, a Democrat, defeated Republican incumbent John King in the November 3, 2026, Georgia Insurance Commissioner election (roughly 54.3% to 45.7%). Credit-based insurance scores are widely used (where allowed) because they are statistically predictive of future claims. Large studies have found that policyholders in the lowest credit deciles have substantially higher average losses than those in the highest (one analysis of >175,000 policies showed ~65% higher average losses in the bottom 10%).

MADNESS: A man films a homeless person after they yelled the F word and N****r at him but then another guy intervened saying he knows how to deal with her properly. However, things then got heated between all of them. The man filming is named Brandon Farley. Farley has a long history of similar on-the-ground videos from the same neighbourhoods documenting street encampments, open drug use, and confrontations.

🇺🇸NEW: Jakiyra Metcalf, an Ole Miss student, shared Ring doorbell footage on TikTok (Friday) of three women outside her apartment door The video shows the women walking through the outdoor apartment breezeway; viewers and Metcalf describe the audio as monkey noises, which she framed as racist harassment. She tagged the University of Mississippi and asked what the school had to say about it, later identifying the women as her upstairs neighbors/classmates. The case has drawn comparisons to a May 2024 Ole Miss incident during a pro-Palestinian protest, in which a white counter-protester (later identified as James “JP” Staples) made monkey noises and gestures toward a Black graduate student; his fraternity (Phi Delta Theta) expelled him, and the university opened a student-conduct probe.

🇺🇸INSANE: Breakdown of 2026 US midterm results showing how electoral maps change dramatically when voting is limited to one demographic group. What do you notice? The underlying numbers come from AP VoteCast / the 2026 Voter Poll (run by SSRS for the AP, NBC, CNN, Fox, and others). This is the same large-scale voter survey the networks used on election night. Every state is colored according to which party that single group backed in the state’s main 2026 race (Senate race where one existed; otherwise the gubernatorial race).

🇺🇸CRISIS: A small propeller plane making an emergency crash landing on a busy roadway in North Fort Myers, Florida, after experiencing mechanical failure. A 1963 Cessna 172D Skyhawk (N2905U, owned by Edward B. Kear of Bonita Springs) took off from Sebring Regional Airport around 11:01 a.m. on Nov. 7, 2026, bound for Page Field. Pilots reported engine trouble near 11:47 a.m. and landed on Bayshore Road (near I-75, east of Samville Road) about two minutes later. The plane’s tail clipped an eastbound pickup truck; no one was injured. The same plane had a similar engine-related emergency landing on US-98 in Sebring in late August 2026 (three people aboard, no injuries). Sheriff Carmine Marceno called the outcome fortunate given recent aviation tragedies. The FAA is investigating.

EVIL: Jennifer Welch (on behalf of the I’ve Had It podcast) issued a short smug "apology" after the November 5 episode backlash and sponsor pullouts. “On Thursday’s show, I laughed at a joke about Charlie Kirk. It was an insensitive joke, and I should not have laughed. I regret it, and I apologize.” It continued: “Whatever our political differences, there is nothing funny about gun violence.” Sponsors lost so far ChewyCustomer service replies confirming they are no longer affiliated or sponsoring. UNREAL: Egyptian Muslim Abdul El-Sayed brags about Michigan being the “capital of Arab America.” “I know we’re here in D.C. which is the capital of the United States of America but Michigan is the capital of Arab America.” Michigan has one of the largest Arab American populations in the country—Census figures often put it around 200–280k+, while Arab American Institute estimates adjust upward toward ~390–400k due to undercounting. Metro Detroit has the highest concentration of Arabic speakers of any U.S. metro area (roughly 190k). Dearborn is the first Arab-majority city in the U.S. (about 54.5% Middle Eastern/North African ancestry in the 2020 Census, with large Lebanese, Yemeni, and Iraqi communities). Nearby cities such as Dearborn Heights and Hamtramck also have very high shares. This demographic reality is why the “capital of Arab America” phrasing is common in local discourse.
