Absolutely agree! Home Economics is in many schools but needs the recognition, funding and timetable allocation it deserves to ensure each generation is food literate.
Watched it - @ClaireByrneLive v informative, @darinaallen “wealth of a nation is health of a nation” - @IFHE_HomeEc @ATHE_HomeEc @HomeEcConnect - as a Home Economics trained teacher strongly believe cookery skills should be compulsory - don’t you agree @nevenmaguire @McHughJoeTD

Teaching people food and cooking skills takes place already in subjects such as #HomeEconomics in schools! It does exist and there is a practical food exam as part of 50% of the externally assessed marks @ClaireByrneLive @ATHE_HomeEc @StAngelasSligo

Embedding the SDGs into Home Economics education is a no brainer. Simple food solutions in the hands of our students. Excellent work @RethinkFoodUK
Our work gives children & young people a voice… using the SDGs as a framework we asked them to consider the options, potential solutions and causes of action to food based challenges, the outcomes were AMAZING!
